Why not?  And if you bring the chardonnay, Paul, I'll bring the pinot noir.

"too far, too fast"??  In a town that has a posted speed limit of 25 mph -- which btw is stringently enforced!!  Perhaps the State's Prop 30 ("tax the rich") has some good points after all, although the irony is always lost on a liberal.  ;)

Billionaires running over millionaires.  What a novel idea!  I am glad I don't live in California anymore.

If one cannot run roughshod from time to time then where is the incentive to being a billionaire?

Crescent Park is a very, very choice neighborhood in PA with many grand homes.  I know that Mr. Z. of Facebook moved in a year or so ago; I wonder if he is the billionaire in question?

Thank you for this laugh!! My in-laws live in Portola Valley, the hill-dwellers who look look down on Palo Altons...they would be chuckling over this too, since their community enforces strict codes to put a stranglehold on billionaire-hijinks of this sort!

The debate is over a planned development by John Arrillaga (who has funded many public projects in the Peninsula) at the intersection of University and El Camino Real.

The complaint in the paper about a billionaire just "coming in" to the area is also rich, considering that Arrillaga has a) been in Silicon Valley longer than almost anyone else here (since the 60s), b) used to be one of the largest property owners in the region, and c) has probably donated more than a few public facilities used by the complainer on a regular basis.

The 2% bickering with the 0.02%, Obama must be proud.
