So if you’re not following Claire’s Twitter feed (and if you’re not, really, take a good long look at yourself and where your life is headed), you may have missed that a Turkish seismologist accidentally left years’ worth of earthquake data at a bus stop. I’m hoping the good professor has a backup, but he sounds a little bit desperate…
What could be worse to lose than that? Take it away, Teton County, Wyoming, sheriff’s department sergeant Lloyd Funk!
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Officials in Wyoming want people to be on the lookout for a black box with white lettering that says "METH," after a deputy lost a stash used to train police dogs. Teton County sheriff's Sgt. Lloyd Funk said the deputy accidentally left the box on a bumper after a canine training exercise Oct. 27. It contained nearly an ounce of methamphetamine.
The deputy drove off with the drugs perched on the vehicle.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reported that officers literally trying to get drugs off the street haven't been able to find the box.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the sheriff's office. Sheriff Jim Whalen says someone possessing the amount of meth that was lost would face a felony charge.
Whalen says his office is taking action to make sure the mistake isn't repeated.

Great. Now the Teton County Sheriff's Department will have to have all bumpers removed from their vehicles as a process mitigation. Or perhaps all horizontal surfaces.

I know that somehow these two stories are connected, if only through the morphogenetic field. Think about it: Could this really be a coincidence?

This is all very funny stuff and I hope everyone remembers what other things get lost, except they neglect to tell the hoi polloi.
For example, I think Clinton's losing the "biscuit" has to be right up there. Imagine the nuclear codes floating around somehwere as Bubba probably fibbed about them. " My girlfriend ate em ?"
We just heard about that one, ten years on. Louis XIV lost the Hope Diamond, the Germans lost the Amber Room, and a Turk loses the shake charts , now a deputy loses the shakes chest. Where's that poor Indian who shot himself in the leg on the Obamapalooza , they admonished and bandaged him and gave him one bullet, which was to stay in his breast pocket. Barney Fife lives !! And he lives everywhere. Here's to the misplacers.

Ah, you're gonna need to do better than that if you want to keep playing this game. An ounce of meth doesn't really compare to five years years of research with no backup.
