This bit of news just landed in my inbox:

California Republican Senate nominee Carly Fiorina has been hospitalized with an infection related to her post-breast-cancer surgery, according to her campaign.

Fiorina was admitted to an unspecified Los Angeles hospital Tuesday morning to receive antibiotics, according to a statement released by her chief of staff, Deborah Bowker. The illness takes Fiorina off the campaign trail at a crucial time in her tough contest with Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer...

The current illness is "an infection associated with the reconstructive surgery," but Fiorina "remains cancer free today," according to the campaign statement.

Boxer’s campaign issued a get-well statement. “We wish Carly Fiorina a speedy recovery and hope she is able to return to her normal schedule soon,” campaign manager Rose Kapolczynski said.

Let's hope she gets well soon.

The stress she's endured so far is extraordinary, so this shouldn't be surprising. Our immune systems are adversely affected mental and emotional exhaustion. Get well Carly!

We do wish her well. And we hope in her short absence that the people of California get to see the recent disclosures about Boxer's many mortgages from Countrywide (talk about friends w/benefits) , her signoff clearing Dodd of his complicity with the Countrywide debacle, and her hiding assets from routine disclosure rules.

Just the thought of returning Brown to the statehouse and Boxer to the Senate is enough to make anyone ill.

Get well soon Carly, the state needs you !
