For the first half of this ad, I was baffled.  Then the ad changes into a wonderful post-modern deconstruction of exactly what is happening with politics and a commentary on the President's visit to California to fund raise, as well as our obsession with celebrity.

I expect a "Real Housewives/Jersey Shore/16 and Pregnant" style ad any moment now.

I am still unconvinced about Cain as a candidate, but this ad is wonderful!

Was that Alfonso Rachel (Zo) who spit on the man's shoe? I loves me some Zo!

That is about a thousand times cooler than sleeping in a tent in Zucotti Park !

Tea Party and Herman Cain rock. (but we knew that)

The ad took awhile to get to the point but the point was ultimately well made. It is hard not to admire Cain.

I think Herman Cain needs his own sitcom...

He's obviously just trying to sew up the votes of existentialist hipsters.

Can't wait to see what they release next.  This is well off the trodden path.

This ad was actually made awhile back, before anybody was paying attention to Cain.  I saw it before the Iowa Straw Poll.  It's something that was just put together by supporters, not something that was recently made, now that he is taking in a little money.

As such, this makes it even more fun!

Friersdorf tries to discredit by damning with faint praise. The hollow allusions to Dada fall flat in a conservative's ears , but we smile ( like Herman ) as we consider befuddled liberal grasping at 1919 cool. Atlantic , to be spacific.

Cain has accomplished something previously thought to be impossible, he has made campaign ads fun, interesting, entertaining and persuasive.  If voters start looking forward to the next Cain ad, that's an electability factor all it's own.

Cute, but Cain's getting bad advice.

He's playing to type, and that's not wise. He's already secured the "He's fun and unorthodox" vote. Check. Got it. Now he needs to woo people who question his seriousness, his grasp of issues, his (groan) "gravitas". And this ad, and that silly blowing-smoke one, do precisely the opposite.

I think this ad was fun, but could we, the members of the (small and perhaps reluctant) Gingrich group, have a little equal time here?  Bereket Kelile put up a really amazingly good Gingrich ad on the Member Feed.  Everyone should check it out.

Best political ad ever, bar none, and I don't even care for the guy. But I do admire his ability to force the tighta**es who dominate our political scene unpucker...

I guess I'm just not sure what to do with that...

I think I've underestimated Herman Cain.

Cain's ad team is giving Mike Gravel a run for his money.  Now, all we need is a rap.
