Geithner is leaving, hopefully.

Good. We've had quite enough of his idiotic policy prescriptions.  Sadly, I'm resigned to the fact that the palooka and policies that succeed him will be the same or worse.

Finally, little Timmy G. is getting out of our sandbox.  Now can we strain the kitty litter and get rid of his leavings?

I would be interested to read Michael Labeit's take on this one.

He probably needed some time off to get a jump on his 2011 tax return.

Obama's administration has been very hard on economic advisers.  I wonder how long before Ben decides to leave the Fed.

Any truth to the rumor that he will be going into tax preparation?

I don't imagine they have a deep bench at Treasury from which to draw a replacement.  If I recall correctly, they had trouble finding someone to answer the phones under Timmy's leadership.

The man is such a fake, and he's done nothing - evidently - to help the country. This is rich:

"Geithner said speculation about his departure was being driven by his decision to commute to New York so his son can finish his final year of high school there.

“I live for this work,” he said at the Clinton Global Initiative in Chicago. “It’s the only thing I’ve ever done. I believe in it. We have a lot of challenges as a country. I’m going to be doing it for the foreseeable future.”

Hmmmm.... his son must finish high school in New York, or he saves the country by doing the job he lives for and believes in...  Tough choice!

This brings to mind rats abandoning a sinking ship. I wonder how much longer Clinton will risk being associated with the Titanic that is the current administration.
