Buckeyes, Be Proud!
If you are from Ohio and you care about basketball, congratulations!
The state of Ohio has placed four teams into the Sweet Sixteen of the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament: Ohio St., Ohio, Cincinnati, and Xavier. This is apparently the first time a state has earned this honor, though I find that hard to believe thinking back to the years that NC State, Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest were all excellent teams. But maybe it’s just the luck of the draw. Cool stat, still.
Speaking of luck, the University of North Carolina may have run out of it. Kendall Marshall, arguably the Heels’ most important player, broke a bone in his wrist in UNC’s routing of Creighton. Bummer.
As for our Ricochet pool, I can’t make heads or tails of who is looking good. My guesses are that EdGorz, Tango99, Tabula Rasa, and SMcguire have the best future, but please chime in with your mathematical, chart-reading, number-crunching genius.

I don't know Ursula, all I need to rocket to the top of the leader board is for Marquette to go down!

Re: Buckeyes, Be Proud!
They have a name for my bracket... they call it the dead pool...
But who would have believed that Cincinnati and Xavier would have advanced this far after their Crosstown Brawl back in December?
And when Ohio State meets 'Nati in Boston, it will be the first time they've met in the Tournament since the 1961 and '62 Championship Games.

Ed Gorz seems just a bit too lucky. Investigation?
Trace: I can tell hate speech when I see it. You with your subtle anti-papist narrative. May the spirit of Al McGuire haunt your dreams.

Re: Buckeyes, Be Proud!
If past experience is any indication of future results, 6 of my final 8 will falter. But thanks for the expression of optimism.
Now, if only Marshall can come back! Is it possible to get his wrist good enough to play?

Be sure and check out the alternate scoring method for your position on the leaderboard, a video of my family history, and of course, cheerleaders: http://ricochet.com/member-feed/NCAA-Round-2-The-President-s-War-on-Women
