Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
The U.S. released documents from Osama bin Laden yesterday detailing how the terrorist leader was plotting to go after President Obama and Gen. David Petraeus. But not Biden:
I asked Shaykh Sa'id, Allah have mercy on his soul, to task brother Ilyas to prepare two groups - one in Pakistan and the other in the Bagram area of Afghanistan - with the mission of anticipating and spotting the visits of Obama or Petraeus to Afghanistan or Pakistan to target the aircraft of either one of them. They are not to target visits by US Vice President Biden, Secretary of Defense Gates, Joint Chiefs of Staff (Chairman) Mullen, or the Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Holbrook. The groups will remain on the lookout for Obama or Petraeus.
The reason for concentrating on them is that Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make Biden take over the presidency for the remainder of the term, as it is the norm over there. Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the US into a crisis. As for Petraeus, he is the man of the hour in this last year of the war, and killing him would alter the war's path. (emphasis added)
The Vice President as insurance policy. A long American tradition that even bin Laden understood.

After listening to the latest Martini Shot, I think the term of art for Vice President Biden's peculiar talent is:
"Spaz"

(Well, maybe not).

Incompetence is not a requirement. I think the thought of a Cheney Administration kept both al Qaeda and the Democrats up at night.

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
So why did these documents get released, and why now? Perhaps a change is brewing after all. I am looking forward to Biden's response...if anyone bothers to ask him.

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
Great. This will just endear Al Qaeda to the left more since even bin Laden wasn't willing to execute the mentally handicapped...

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
Are we to take from the emphasized sentence that, in the considered opinion of Bin Laden, Barack Obama was prepared for that post?

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
There's no constitutional limit to the number of terms for a Vice-President, right?
D'ya think Dick Cheney would be willing to do the job again?

Here's a thought to ruin your morning.
What if they'd somehow simultaneously taken out both Obama and Biden some time in 2009 or 2010? Can you say "President Pelosi?" <shudder>

Mollie Hemingway, Ed.: Obama or Petraeus.
Gotta be embarrassing when the country's worst enemies consider you more valuable alive than dead.
Could this be the beginning of the replacement of Biden? Perhaps. But where do they go but to Hilary? The Democratic bench is incredibly weak, and Hilary hasn't exactly been covered with laurels after the Chen affair.
Query? Is there someone else to whom Obama could go that would be a game-changer? I can't think of a single name. They're weak and Obama has sucked all the air out of the room.

They do not understand. If a foreign power / group would kill our President, any of our Presidents, even this one. This country would lose its mind. If it was done by jihadists in the name of Islam what would happen afterward might make the Muslims remember the crusades with fondness.

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
I doubt we would be quite as bloody as the crusades were. I don't think for instance we would give the order to kill everyone in a city and let God sort them out. But, I agree they would get a reaction much different than what they would hope for.

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
Valiuth, I disagree, given the right set of circumstances, I can see cities disappearing in fire, it has been done before. When the rich and powerful get scared the results can be unpredictable if the populace gets scared and mad at the same time all bets are off. Sanity would return later, maybe much later and there would be regret but what was done would still have been done.

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
One would think bin Ladin would want Biden in the driver's seat to hasten the U.S. descent into crisis. But, maybe he outsmarted us one last time; by seeing that Obama was taking us there well enough on his own.

That's only fair. Biden wanted to spare bin Laden.

Re: Bin Laden Wanted To Spare Biden
Really? You think the likes of Michael Moore and Susan Sarandan would suddenly become warriors because Obama is killed? You think Sean Penn and his ilk would demand retribution on a quasi-midieval level? I'd love to think this would be the case, but I think the response from this crowd would be akin to "poor Obama, another victim of American aggression".
What I understand of their particular brand of psychosis is that everything bad that happens anywhere in the world is the product of American imperialism and aggression. Killing Obama would just be another exhibit in their case for American capitulation.
Honestly, if someone had told you in 2000 that Islamic terror groups would knock down the WTC and kill 3000 Americans, wouldn't you have expected a sustained, crusade-like reaction from a vast majority? I know I would have.
