"Help me Obi-Wan Biden, you're my only hope."

It's time once again for Star Wars political references, and guess who is casting himself as leader of the virtuous Rebel Alliance? Matt Drudge is linking to a minute-long video at Real Clear Politics that you have to see.

President Obama, with a coarse voice, warned a crowd in Ohio: "They're fighting back. The empire is striking back. To win this election, they are plowing ten's of millions of dollars into front groups. They are running misleading negative ads all across the country."

"You can't know the power of the free side!"

That is the ugliest, most shameless demagogery I've ever seen. This man is evil.

The Empire was still in control when it "struck back"; is he saying his party isn't in control? This guy's been mistaken - about a great many things.

"Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." Sounds like the blueprint of an Obama speech. What a tool.

Pres. Obama: "To win this election, they are plowing tens of millions of dollars into front groups...it could be insurance companies, banks, we don't know....this is a threat to our democracy."

Tens of millions, eh? That's the Empire striking back? Seeing as you wasted hundreds of billions, bought and then sold American car companies to unions, and shoved Obamacare down our throats, please forgive me for mistaking who plays which role.

Joe, I find your lack of faith . . . disturbing.

We should definitely work as many Star Wars quotes as possible into this thread.

I only saw the first Star Wars. So the only metaphor I can offer is the resemblance of any Leftist gathering to the bar scene.

Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes....

Obama has the Presidency, majorities in the Senate, and the Congress; and yet he is still the rebel alliance underdog? Oh give me a break from your self-pity Mr President.

During the passage of Obamacare, "millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced."

Folks, please.

Obama ran as the 9-year old moppet Anakin hitting on the Princess and winning the race decisively to the cheers of his press/harem.  He rules as the sulky, stalking, murderously out of control Sith villain.

Putting 50,000 oil workers out of a job during fuel wars and a recession to enrich his Saudi masters and bring the Republic to its knees?  After months of botched Executive handling of the Gulf leak crisis?  When you think of the number of families impacted, and the transitive impacts, and the environmental headaches, this guy would have been shown the door by any serious Congress.

Obama's campaign speech reminds me of a single line from Revenge of the Sith: "So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause."

That is, in and of itself, an absolutist statement. Ergo, Obi-Wan Kenobi must either have been a Sith himself, or an intellectually lazy thinker.

Disgusting hypocrisy!

When will the GOP point out that Obama himself took tens of millions - or more, nobody knows - from foreign countries during his presidential campaign? And violated his pledge to the electorate that he would observe the McCain-Feingold limits on presidential campaign spending?

Obama's web site was designed to accept foreign credit cards that couldn't be tracked:

The possibility that Jar Jar Binks would be a functioning representative to the Senate is as preposterous as Biden being an effective VP...maybe that's why they were chosen....INTERGALACTIC CONSPIRIACY! ...

B.O. was to bring balance to the force.... not leave it in ruins!...

Exactly! I loved to point this out to everyone who was like, "the emperor is President Bush, look, analogy!" You gotta give Obi-Wan a break though... he is the product of the mind of a lazy thinker. The same thinker who said "the force is strong with B.O."

I loved that line in the movie.

Right, a philosophy that defines a stark difference between a "light" side and a "dark" side and says that under no circumstances must you toy with the "dark" side turns out to be all about nuance. Who knew?

Also, I'm torn as to whether Jabba the Hutt or the Sarlacc is a better metaphor for the federal budget.

Obama does deal in absolutes. His belief that there is one pie, rather than a bakery, is one of his most insidious beliefs. But the worst part of this speech, which one can imagine the dark lord uttering, is his threat to "finish what we started." That he is not yet finished destroying the American economy makes one shudder.

I'd say Sarlacc because it takes a long time to digest what it eats up, yet still never stops eating.

Whatever the relationship of this administration is to Jabba, the New York Times editorial page = Salacious Crumb.
