Update 1:52p.m. ET: Reuters FLASH: two killed in shooting, says University spokesman
Update 1:15p.m. ET: Virginia Tech news reports via Twitter that a police officer has been shot. Unclear whether that is the same victim who was fatally shot outside McComas Hall.
Update: 1:11p.m. ET: Virginia Tech student paper the Collegiate Times reports via Twitter that one victim was fatally shot outside McComas Hall.

Update at 1:02 p.m. ET: The university says shots were reported near a campus parking lot and tells students to stay inside.
Update at 12:48 p.m. ET: The Virginia Tech website says the shooting suspect is described as white male, with gray sweat pants, gray hat, with neon green brim, maroon hjoodie and backpack. The report says the suspect is on foot walking toward the McComas building.

WTOP is reporting that the police officer is the only victim known at this time.

My heart goes out to the people of that school. What a sad thing to have happen to your community twice.

This makes me sick. I live about 90 minutes from campus. I just can't believe something like this is happening here again.
