These guys are hilarious. If you haven't come across them yet, they're a family of musician brothers -- one's married, and she's in the band, too -- and aside from their really great original work, they also are masters of the auto-tune machine, which is a computer-aided sound file processing device which enables the user to correct the pitch of a vocal track.

In other words: it helps you sing better. It's used mostly to enhance professional recordings. I'm told that a lot of very famous singers are absolutely reliant on the auto-tune device to make them seem even remotely on-key.

But in the hands of creative people like the Gregorys it becomes a way to set the news to music.

A funny way to start the weekend.

Though T-Pain and dozens of hacks like him are laughing all the way to the bank, I love that so many Auto-tune joke songs are better than half the crap on the Top 40 stations.

There, I've covered the obligatory "You kids get off my lawn!" angle... now others are free to make more interesting points!

The chick is such a great character. Sweetly innocent in her irony, with a nifty voice. Always has been.

I just remember "He has a chart!" "A Dragon Chart!"

Gotta give the FB puppet pals a break for a couple o days, though holding this in reserve.

One of the many reasons to love youtube. I have one that is my absolute favorite, based on this news report. After you watch that, then check out the remix.

Auto-Tune The News is both clever and talented.

Project one for the interns: Make a YouTube parody akin to these videos. If I may offer a humble suggestion, take CeeLo Green's "Forget You" and deliver it from Obama's post election perspective based on sentiment toward the voting public. ("I saw you vote the House down after 08's love and I'm like forget you, I guess the change in my slogan wasn't enough so forget you and Pel-o-si too... I pity the fool who cast a vote for you"). But keep it clean and clever, more as a potential satirical point of view than attack so as to be in line with the Ricochet CoC.

Love the Auto-tune the News guys, the are all extraordinarily talented. The Gregory Brothers (inc Sister and Brass section ) form a great R&B band as distinct from their Aute-Tune persona. Andrew Rose Gregory is also a solo artist of considerable talent.

Every time I watch Auto-Tune 10 with Rep Hoekstra on "You shall build a turtle fence" I can't help but laugh and bop along. It can certainly lift one's mood.

Why? It was turtle-proof! How? It was three-feet high!

Sometimes one needs a cigarette lighter to wave overhead with these things. As the Founding Fathers did rock before us...

Very funny. But my experience in the music biz tells me these guys can look forward to a lawsuit - from the candidate - wanting his artist royalties. :)

Finally someone has found something good to do with auto-tune. Country music has been overusing it for years--when they started, all the life drained out of the genre, and they started to sound like robots with synthesized voices.
