I'll be in Manhattan the evening of the 25th, and I'm pretty sure I've got a commitment from Ricochet member Jonathan Gilbert to take me to a really good place to do Muay Thai. (You still on, Jonathan? Sorry for the late notice about the date; this has all been kind of last-minute.) If it happens, you're all invited. I'll still be really jetlagged, so you'll all be at an advantage, too.

Do you know yet if you'll be travelling to other parts of the country? Or will you be doing all interviews via internet or phone from New York?

Microsoft recently announced they'll be releasing a Muay Thai game for their new motion control attachment (full body movement, no controller) for the Xbox 360. I'm more interested in learning Krav Maga, but Muay Thai could be fun (or would have been when I was at least semi-flexible).

Gee, typically a date is something like dinner, theater, a movie.

Claire is the first woman I've heard of for whom a date involves a punching bag and boxing gloves.

Must be a very romantic moment when her suitor walks her to her doorstep.

If Paul Krugman is there, I'll drive down from Boston to be there.

How about something less physical, like coffee or dessert or drinks? Train to Grand Central is easy-peasy for me.

The schedule is really tight, and I do need to get some exercise--if I don't, I'll not only go nuts, but I won't be able to deal with the jet lag. I have a really full day the next day of interviews and so forth and if I don't sleep that night, it will be a misery not only for me but for anyone who has to listen to me. But a quick meal afterwards might be a possibility. I'm being quite insistent about the gym thing--and serious about it--because I know from experience that a body really needs it after 20 hours in the air. I invite Ricochet readers to open their minds to the idea that this would be a lot more fun than going out for coffee. I mean, how often do you go out for coffee? How often do you go out for punching, kicking and clinching?

I'm still searching for a place that doesn't seem designed for soccer moms...or neo-Nazi's. So...any suggestions? Anyone? I'd really prefer this evening not go something like a bad 1980's buddy comedy that ends with Claire and I taking on drug dealers or going on a crime spree.

WE ARE ON: http://www.evolutionmuaythai.com/

6:30 on Wednesday. The referrals I've gotten about this place lead me to believe we'll be the only Republicans there, but that seems like an even better reason for other readers to join us. I mean...how often do you find yourself in a situation where it's not just legal to hit a Democrat, but actively encouraged?
