Ask Pat

This coming Tuesday, I'll be recording an episode of Uncommon Knowledge with Ricochet's very own Pat Sajak.
Care to suggest a few lines of questioning? (Note to Pat: No peeking.)

Re: Ask Pat
Why is he hating on golf so much? My heart is broken.

Re: Ask Pat
My impression is that he is from a different part of the country, so I found his chosen stomping grounds interesting. Don't get me wrong, I love Annapolis, but it seems, to me, an unusual place to settle for somebody not from there, or that hadn't lived there due to work assigments.

Re: Ask Pat
Having formerly been a weatherman, how can we trust anything you say? But seriously, Mr. Sajak was born and raised in Chicago, and he spent time in Vietnam. I would like to hear about these experiences. Peter, please ask for Pat's impression of Chicago, past and present. Perhaps that would be an appropriate question concerning Vietnam as well.

Between now and July 31, should the Orioles buy a pitcher or spin the wheel?
Re: Ask Pat
Has Pat been a conservative from the start, or was he mugged by reality somewhere along the way?

Re: Ask Pat
Sajak is a consummate gentleman. Why does being a gentleman matter? How does it differ from mere politeness or trying to be everything to everyone?
Is American culture losing respect for that ideal?
Should we care if politicians act like gentlemen and ladies?
Re: Ask Pat
We all spend so much time at work that we of course have dreams or nightmares about being at work.
Does Pat ever have odd dreams or nightmares about "The Wheel" and what are they?

Re: Ask Pat
Pat's run in Hollywood on one show is a remarkable achievement. How does he keep the work and the show fresh and interesting, for both himself and his audience?

Re: Ask Pat
Were you writing opinion pieces before joining Ricochet? Was it the leftward bend of the federal government, or a combination of Ricochet and Obama?
How did you end up on Ricochet? I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses your wit on the podcast, it was amazing between you and James Lileks, with the occasional Andrew Klavan (everyone else is great also, of course). I saw your post last year about your absence, just wanted to say that you were missed.
Thanks

Re: Ask Pat
Pat strikes me as the kind of interview subject who, if you gave him any topic, could riff for twenty minutes about a funny story somewhat related.
Frankly, Peter, I think you might have an easy week here.

Re: Ask Pat
How would his life be different if the phase "I'd like to buy a consonant" had become a part of the popular vernacular....And why?

Re: Ask Pat
As Hillsdale college alumni, my wife and I are curious as to how Mr. Sajak came to be on the Dale's Board of Trustees and would be delighted to hear his thoughts about the current trajectory of the college and of American Higher education in general.

What's Pat's favorite Shakespeare play? And has he acted in one?

Re: Ask Pat
Get tough with him, go all Sam Donaldson: "Do you know jack, Sajak?"

Re: Ask Pat
How has his recognizability affected his life? Is he treated differently in various parts of the US?

Since he's wearing a clip mic, he's obviously interviewing the flamingos.
Why?

Eeyore: Since he's wearing a clip mic, he's obviously interviewing the flamingos.
Why?
Relatedly, do flamingo(e)s taste like shrimp?

Re: Ask Pat
1. What are the four books--two fiction, two non-fiction--you most enjoyed reading this past year?2. What do you think about those who predict the demise of broadcast/cable television, replaced by individually-driven direct delivery of content through streaming?
