This morning while running errands I made a couple of discoveries.

First, Reagan stamps are almost here!

Reagan Stamp

Second, my favorite sweet treat is already here. Ah, spring is in the air.

And it was reported this morning that because of better feed for chocolate chickens, Cadbury Creme Eggs should have a lot less cholesterol. Hmm...or was that real eggs?

And soon we will hear the most glorious words ever spoken in English, "Pitchers and catchers reported to camp..."

The real reason eggs appeare to have a lot less cholesterol than they used to is that the people who compile the statistics have simply stopped including the numbers for the chickens who've decided to quit laying eggs . . .

I loved Easter as a child, and every year I miss the beautiful chocolate eggs we used to get in England.  They were all made by companies which no longer exist, or which, like Cadbury, have been taken over by other (lesser) outfits.  I was always very proud of the fact that the milk from the cows at the bottom of our garden went directly to Cadbury's (we lived about 25 miles away from their Birmingham headquarters).

My favorite Easter egg ever was hollow chocolate (very thin) with really nice chocolates and toffees packed inside.  It was decorated with candied (real) violets, in a beautiful box, wrapped in about three acres of cellophane and tied up with an enormous yellow ribbon.  I can't find anything like it today.

I've always had a fondness for Easter, too. Best candies, for sure.

I've always especially loved Easter because it was the day of my birth.  Lilies, peeps, chocolate eggs and bunnies -- I pretend they exist for me :)

While politicians are mandating this and that, the least they could do is order that Cadbury eggs be sold year-round.

Maybe we should submit a Ricochet diorama? And you have to check out Peep Show III and IV.

Peep-ochet?

Maybe sounds too much like Pinochet.

Oh, geez. I love it! What would I do without Ricochet? Senator Craig's "wide stance" one was my fave.

Word on the street is EJ's working on a stop-motion animated Peep Ricochet video even now.

Now there's a command economy I can support.  Limited, focused, and most definitely in the public interest.  I would even support a mandate (yes, it would violate the commerce clause) that I buy and eat at least a dozen.

How about in honor of Reagan, we do a Peep Diorama of Reagan's speech at the Brandenburg Gate? Call it "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down This Peep!"

Or, "Mr. Gorbapeep, Tear Down This Basket!"

Peep-er Robinson will be in the scene with his typewriter, of course.
