Arnold's Back
Here's the scoop:
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the body builder-turned-movie star-turned politician, is taking on a new role: cartoon superhero.
Entertainment Weekly reported that comic book legend Stan Lee will create a character modeled on Schwarzenegger called “The Governator.” The superhero will not only appear in a comic book form, but in as an animated television show as well.
“When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘the Governator,’ I though the word was so cool,” the former California governor told Entertainment Weekly. “The word ‘Governator’ combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together.”
The series will also feature characteristics from his career, including a group of super-villains called the Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-Cons, or G.I.R.L.I.E. Men.
The first trailer of "The Governator" was unveiled today:
The show is set to debut next year, just in time for election season, which is almost enough to make one wonder what Arnold has in mind for the future. And then there's this vague and enigmatic statement from Arnold himself:
[N]ow we are concentrating on launching this series and this character, and then when that is done, then I will make the next decision.

Re: Arnold's Back
Arnie has no political or Hollywood future. He flopped as governor, ending up with Bush-level polling numbers, and he's too old to interest the teenagers Hollywood makes movies for. All that's left is the gnawing hunger for the limelight. It's worse than coming down from heroin for aging celebrities. You got years instead of fifteen minutes, Arnie. All the muscle has turned to fat.

I hope those of you in the other 49 states enjoy this series, which recently concluded a seven-year run here in California. SPOILER ALERT: The first two seasons are strong, then the writing loses its focus and chases fads. By the end, no one notices when it goes off the air with dismal ratings.
