Another Conspiracy Theory Bites the Dust?
Seems conspiracy nuts have had a rough go of it, of late . . .
1) President Obama produces that long-awaited long-form birth certificate;
2) Al-Qaeda admits that bid Laden indeed is dead;
3) As of this writing, the Los Angeles Lakers are trailing by 20 points and on the verge of getting bounced from the NBA playoffs. So much for those whispered asides that the league does what it can to bring the NBA Finals to Tinseltown (and,should Dallas advance, thus open the door to another NBA conspiracy theory -- that the league will do everything in its power to deny the flambouyant Mavs' owner Mark Cuban a title).
So what's your hunch as to the next conspiracy theory to bite the test? Roswell, Amelia Earhart, Trump's hair . . . ?

Trump's hair will never bite the dust. It is immortal. It will keep on living long after its host has perished. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

The mystery of Trump's hair has been solved; it's a double comb-over.

The NBA is covering up the tracks of its failed effort to get the Lakers into the finals by arranging to have Dallas blow them out.

I don't know which one would be next to bite the dust, but I do know one that will last forever.

Re: Another Conspiracy Theory Bites the Dust?
Obama born in the US? Osama bin Laden dead? The NBA doesn't favor certain players or teams?
The next thing you'll be saying is that Pro Wrestling is fake.

Re: Another Conspiracy Theory Bites the Dust?
The NBA does assign officials to games and can tell them to focus on calling certain things more closely which can impact a game. It doesn't exactly qualify as a conspiracy, but that's the reality of it. In the case of Lakers/Mavericks, the Mavericks were just that much better and the officiating didn't make a difference.
I don't believe 'the fix is in' when it comes to the NBA, but 'the influence' is definitely in. Don't forget about Tim Donaghy - where's there's one, there's probably others.
