And Speaking of Around the World ...

I'm flying up to Paris tomorrow to see not only my Pop, but my brother Mischa and my nephew Leo. Questions for my Pop? Ask them here, I'll get him to answer. Questions for my brother? He's elusive, but I may be able to capture him on film if I approach quietly and slowly, at feeding time, using a good telephoto lens. Questions for Leo? He's two years old and he really likes trucks, trains and other vehicles, so phrase them accordingly.
Questions about France? I'll see what I can do.
À bientôt!

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Ask your dad how he produced such achievers. Another author in the family? Really? And is Leo published yet?
Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Ask Leo who is hiding behind your hands.

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Ah the life of the jetsetter! My travel is less exotic, Im headed from Boston to Jonesboro, Arkansas for a week of coding in the IT dungeon of a local hospital. If any ricochet members can suggest food to experience and/or sites to see in that area would be welcome!
Question for your dad. Any good entry level material out there on string theory? I seem to remember a mention that Stephen Hawking uses this in his latest to "proove" there is no God, or at least a need for a God. From what I understand string theory is still very much a theory and not a fact. Any discussion on this that would be accessable to a non physicist?

For Leo: Port au Prince? How come?
And for your dad, if it's not too boringly obvious: Last week, British Prime Minister David Cameron vetoed additions to the treaty governing the European Union that would have required Britain to join the other nations of the EU in surrendering a portion of their sovereignty in the interest of coordinating economic policy across the continent. (The provisions will now be embodied in administration law of some kind, making them binding on the other EU members but not on Britain.)
Did Cameron do right? For Britain? For Europe itself?

Well, Peter, I could handle that one ...
Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Yeah, right. "Pop, Ricochet wants to know how you produced such achievers." Like I'm really going to say that.

By all means, have a go at it yourself, Claire!
Oh, and where I wrote "Leo" up above, I meant "Mischa." Sorry.

Your wish is my command. I even anticipated it.

I have a question for your father...
Referencing his work in the field of Intelligent Design, what are his thoughts, if any, regarding Aristotle's notion of Final Causes as it applies to that issue?

Claire - please do! Having spent time around the tent-cities and shanty-towns of Switzerland - also self-exiled from the EU - you must really be fearing for the UK...

And what do the Turkish media say about it?

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Sorry, I confused my reply--Genferei, I meant to reply to Peter. As for the Turkish media, I'm seeing almost no commentary on it.
Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Mischa, I remain an ardent fan of your extraordinary novel, Fieldwork. When will we see more of your fiction?

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Leo, what's your favorite TV show? Who do you prefer, Barney or Bob the Builder? Dora the Explorer or Diego? Wallace & Grommit or Shaun the Sheep?

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
When will there be a Berlinski family reunion in New York? Does Dad have a favorite coffee place in Paris? I may be there in the spring.... Maybe we could have a soirée en Paris. How fun would that be?

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
If it would not be too much trouble for him, could you ask your father to take a look at my "The 'For Peter: Protein Synthesis' Discussion" post on Member Feed. There was a Part I about 23 hours ago and a Part II 19 hours ago. If he could comment that would be perfect.
Thanks, and enjoy Paris. Hard not to enjoy it I hear.

Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Please ask your Dad to bring back Aaron Asherfeld. How about an Asherfield visits Paris romp?
Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Dora, by a landslide. Not even close. Dora is like some two-year-old narcotic. Thank God for Dora.
Re: And Speaking of Around the World ...
Not before this kid hits kindergarten, I reckon. There's no way I can see that anyone could write a novel while taking care of a child this age.

I'm imagining the day Claire was born...
"Well? Is it a boy? A girl?"
"It's a reporter!"
