I submit this from RealClearPolitics with many questions: How controlled by the administration was last night's Townhall meeting? How did they let this young man articulate the conservative position so well? And why wasn't Obama's TelePrompTer better loaded with an answer other than blame it on Bush? (Well I know the answer to that one.)

Bait and switch. It's the only way it could have happened.

The Washington Posts quotes a gay blogger who wanted to ask a question about gay bullying in school. He was asked "What lighter question would I ask the President -- something related to pop culture perhaps." http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2010/10/blogger-mtv-asked-for-light-qu.html

They've always been tightly controlled and this was no different. It would be interesting to hear from the guy who actually asked the question...

Let's pray that this young man can afford a good tax lawyer. He may need one.

Something must be wrong with my hearing. Every time the President starts reciting all the problems he "inherited," all I can hear is Charlie Brown's teacher.

And the President never did really answer the young man's question, although it's not surprising. Mr. Hunter certainly didn't seem to buy the answer. How he got his question through the screeners, I don't know, but I'm glad he did. Just a little more tarnish on the teflon.

Could it also be that because this man is African American they assumed he would stick to the ascribed dogma? No, that would be...well, I can't even say it.

Gosh, Denise, I was going to say that but was not sure it would get by the CoC chappies.

I was too busy gaping at the young lady in the first row with her short skirt and plunging neckline to pay attention to anything else.

I don't know as the questioner was conservative or that the question was considered anything but a lobbed softball for the Immaculate One to drive into the left-field bleachers. They thought this was just so easy that it never occurred to anyone there it might reveal something significant about Obama.

A brave and true patriot! This guy deserves a medal. It must have been a bait and switch arrangement, as ConcernedCanadien says.

The Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress since 2007, so the "Bush did it!" canard should never have been allowed to stand. When will conservatives begin yelling this from the rooftops!?

Now, I gotta go back and check out the young lady in the short skirt.....

Can't tell if the kid is just really nervous, or a softball pitcher.
