06poll-v2-blog480

According to a new poll conducted by CBS and the NYT (not exactly conservative front groups), more than two-thirds of Americans want to see Obamacare struck down.   A whopping 41 percent want the Court to strike down the whole thing, while an additional 27 percent would "only" strike down the individual mandate at the heart of the law.  In other words, 68 percent of Americans want to see at least part of the law struck down.  Among indepedents, the number is even higher -- 70 percent.

Despite the Obama Team's confident predictions in 2010 that the law would become more and more popular, the negative polling numbers have held steady for months (see chart).  Such polls, of course, don't guarantee that the Court will strike down the law, but they negate the left's argument that the Court wouldn't dare strike down the law for fear of a public backlash.

If the court upholds the law we are in trouble and not just because of his horrible law.

Frankly if there is going to be a public backlash, it might be more likely to occur if the entire law is maintained.

Even a slim majority of Democrats feel the mandate is wrong.

Remember when Pelosi said we need to pass it to find out what's in it? Who knew that when something smelled when we didn't know what was in it that it would really stink when we found out? It's kind of like smelling a skunk and then expecting rose water when it actually sprays you.

The simple facts demonstrated by this poll have never been grasped by the left.  They are incapable of believing it.

How true. Pelosi continues to insist that ObamaCare is about Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, despite all the evidence that it's just the opposite. It's about government control over every aspect of our lives, including life and death.

Americans don't like Obamacare? So what? Like many laws they will be shoved down our throats till we learn to love them. Enforcement of the law will be so that friends of the government will be given excuses from the more odious aspects. Those that oppose will have the law's enforcement inflicted upon them in its broadest interpretations and strictest penalties. In the end it is just business as usual for our crony driven system.
