Awesome! What an incredible project and experience for those kids. I sure hope I can be as cool a dad as this one for my 2 year old when she's ready for this kind of adventure.

It is amazing what you can do with a low budget. Remember the Mars rovers? Those were developed when NASA had suffered some serious cutbacks during the Clinton years.

Big ticket items are for politicians trying to overcompensate for something...

I saw this a few days ago on facebook. I shared this with my dad, who is an airline pilot, and we both commented on the fact that hopefully they cleared this with the FAA before doing this. As my dad said, pilots don't like foreign objects falling through their airspace unannounced while flying at 30K feet.

Their website links to the FAA rules so hopefully they did. It'd be a bummer if they got in trouble over this. It's an amazing and cool video.
