I wager Rob Long that Mitt Romney will win!

Dinner at the restaurant of the winners choosing.  Some place nice that doesn't serve moose.  French Laundry kinda place!

What do you say Mr. Long?

I'm in for Romney. Anywhere in the South is "mutually convenient," isn't it?

Finally some optimism on this site!!   I'll be so happy if Romney wins, I'll send a check somewhere to contribute to the party.  I won't be able to travel to Texas, but I'll be overjoyed if Richoteers are having a drink on me celebrating an Obama defeat!

I'll bet all comers that Romney will win SC.  Anyone out there disagree?  If so, I'll bet every penny I can scrape together.  (I'm looking to send two kids to college in about 10 years.)

If I had any money left, I'd be in too.

As George Savage says as an entrepreneur I am an eternal optimist. But part of that is that I have to realistically assess the situation based on the information available to me. At this point I see almost no chance for Romney to win. The forces arrayed against him are to vast, his message is to weak. The American people are still scared and Obama's message of manna from heaven will continue to play well against Romney's message of free market capitalism. That leaves me in a quandary, while I do not think Romney will win, I do not want to bet against him. This would be to much like rooting for the other team. Suggestions?

I'm in.  Romney wins.  And St. Louis is a great central location for the entire country.   And some dang great Italian restaurants on The Hill.

I'll bet on Gary Johnson, but I won't take it at 1:1.

Rob Long: I'll take it. But in the interests of fairness, let's stipulate that it'll have to be someplace mutually convenient, and if other Ricochet members want to join this bet -- on either side -- we can just turn it into a party, losing side pays. What do you think? · Apr 13 at 10:27am

I'm in.  LA will work - short hop from Portland.  I'm on the Romney wins side.

Obama's got this sewn up.  Not only will I participate but if Obama blows this thing I'll host the biggest Rico-soiree you ever saw.

Rob, the way this thing is lining up, you made need to refinance your house.  Here's someone who can help:

I'll have the prime rib and a baked potato.  Maybe throw in some king crab legs as well.  Key lime pie for dessert, please.

Oh, and a nice bottle of Leonetti Reserve 2008 will suffice for the wine.

He won't need Fred's help. I have every confidence Rob will be at the helm of a wildly successful sitcom come November. We wouldn't take advantage of him like this if it weren't a near cert.

No matter who wins I'd like to suggest we call the resulting event "The Boymoose Party".

Can I bet that Romney won't win but that Obama will lose? With horse racing I have proven that I can pick winners and still lose money so I'll chip in for dinner either way. Speaking of which but not to change the subject, any of you Ricocheters paying attention to the run up to the Derby? (does that thread already exist?)
