Much nicer than actually being there and getting elbowed in a sea of tourists. Thanks.

If you're ever in San Antonio, stop by the chapel at Our Lady of the Lake University. I think of it and St. Peter's Basilica as bookends. Excepting the wonderful woodwork near the altar, the basilica is all stone and awe-inspiring in its expanse. The chapel in San Antonio is small and intimate with a few frescoes of Mary and the most beautiful stained-glass windows I've yet seen.

Glorious, Beautiful.  The crowds in the Sistine Chapel, and the actual smallness really do not let you see its grandeur.  Thanks for this... brings back many memories to my wife and myself.

You beat me to posting that! Staggering, isn't it? I was amused by the clever way the Vatican Museum tech guys worked their copyright logo in there.
