This one's going viral--and deserves to.

It is a poignant and beautiful reminder of everything that is right with America, Christianity and Western Civilization.

That was incredible.  Flownover posted another example of this a few days ago -- in a Macy's.  There's something especially touching about performing it in a food court.  Love the young soprano belting it out as she holds a cell phone to her ear.  And the guy waving the yellow janitorial sign.

Handel's Messiah, the last movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and Verdi's Requiem...  It's hard to believe that they weren't written by God.  As a teary-eyed Handel was quoted as he finished the Messiah:  “I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself!!”

'Twas definitely a reminder of everything that is right with Canada. The older gentleman in the backround from 36-38 with the Blue Jays hat with a poppy stuck in it really made me miss home while I watched this.

Yeah, definitely Canada; the sponsoring co. is in Niagra Falls.  Makes me think about how on a certain basic level, North America is one cultural place..nice..may it endure that way.

Wonderful!  After enjoying the Macy's/Wanamakers Ricochet link a few days ago I started exploring found this performance in the Antwerp Train Station:

Is is my imagination or does the kid at 1:21 look like Peter Robinson. Hey, Peter, have you ever been in Canada, and what did you get up to while you were here?

OK, nobody asked for this, but I’ll confess. One night I was far from home and loved ones when I chanced to go to a concert where the Messiah was sung. After the performance I was asked to a party that included the soprano lead. She had the voice and looks of an angel, a raven-haired beauty with black flashing eyes. I am uncertain how it happened, but we hit it off immediately and spent the evening in each other’s company. Here’s the confession part: Unbeknownst to her, I came within a hair’s breadth of overthrowing my life as it was then for her. I know it sounds stupid, but the thought of dashing all kept recurring in my head the whole evening like some hypnotic replay. There has been some use of the word manqué around this forum lately, and after watching this video all I can do is sigh and contemplate its very personal and devastating meaning.

Now you dunnit.  I'm trying to illuminate an icon of St. Francis for a Christmas gift, and I get so teary eyed that I have to put down my paint and brushes.  But it was worth it.

It reminds me of the little Whos all gathering around the community Whoville tree to sing Welcome Christmas.  The human voice can be so beautiful and so moving.

I can't get over the humility of the mall's food court.  That's really the whole point, isn't it?

Ottoman, those are my top three too!  Every Christmas at the end of the service our whole church belts out a rousing "Hallelujah Chorus."  I have never, ever gotten all the way through because I always cry.  This video did it to me again.

Just checked on youtube the hit-counter is up to 10,647,039, which represents an increase of 141,770 hits or roughly 40,500 per hour. Given that "word of mouth" should generate an exponential increase between now and Christmas, this video should easily top 25 and possibly 30 million hits.

I always knew Jesus would love Arby's.

That's beautiful. Thank you very much. Singing like this reminds me of the "choirs" of angels that await in Heaven.

Paules, you think it's hard painting while tearing up to music like this? Try singing along. I had to pause many times.

I hope someone will arrange similar performances for our soldiers as they come home.

As I watched the video (and singing alto along with them) a thought hit: let's arrange with our church, symphony, etc., choirs to do the same thing all across the country - in food courts or wherever people think best.  In fact, with the 156 countries tuning into our site, this idea may just spread even further.  Let's roll, folks...
