Then there are days when the histrionics of President Obama remind one of a rooster who believes that his crowing actually makes the sun rise. If memory serves correctly, his election would cause sea levels to subside, the planet would heal, war would end, and the Saints would win the Super Bowl. Okay, so the last one might have been creative license on my part, but hey, if you're going to take credit for sea levels, why not go for the gusto? In fact, why not take credit for your histrionics in general?  So, using President Obama's speech in Tuscson, AZ, January 12, 2011, some applied histrionics:

But at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized - at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do - it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”

- - "So they're going to escalate the protests -- you will either have collective bargaining through a vehicle called collective bargaining or you're going to have it through the streets. People here will fight back because they think their cause is moral and they have nowhere else to go." Jesse Jackson, March 10, 2011

“As we discuss these issues, let each of us do so with a good dose of humility.”

Protestors Humbly Occupying State House

“Rather than pointing fingers or assigning blame...”

King Hearing Protestor (edited)

“...let us use this occasion to expand our moral imaginations...”

Protestor Expanding His View of Gov. Walker
  • “...to listen to each other more carefully, to sharpen our instincts for empathy...”

- - "Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes [sic] will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for more information on possible scenarios in which you will die."  email to Wisconsin Republican state senators

“...and remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together.”

That last picture of the human boar speaks volumes.  It appears he would be perfectly at home wallowing in a pig sty.  And, for one of the oppressed, he evidently has never missed a meal.

Robert, I thought the same thing.

With everyone else standing I get the impression that he climbed the Capitol steps and collapsed.

Is it surprising that people who hold childish opinions (we should have things because we want them) behave childishly?

Good This...  Then there are days when the histrionics of President Obama remind one of a rooster who believes that his crowing actually makes the sun rise.

Save the roosters crows ring hollow...

Cannot recall the last time one saw folks behave so poorly as the Wisc. Union folk.

If only they could see themselves as others have, not likely.

“A fool’s voice is known by a multitude of words.”  (Ecclesiastes 5:3)

We've heard enough words from "The One."   He's an odd combination:  infantile (has he ever made a hard decision?) and ideological.  In 2012, let's turn the presidency back over to an adult.

Well done, Dave.  I really, really hate the modern left.  I fervently disagreed with the old left, but I hate the modern left.  They hate America -- and I hate those who hate America.

Tangent: The sleepy, shoeless fella has a Veterans for Peace sign. I have some experience with VFP, and while I hesitate to criticize any veteran, particularly regarding their feelings about war after having been in one, this group is extremely leftist. As this photo illustrates, they show up at just about any left-leaning protest regarding of its direct relevance to veterans and — based on my experience with them — are largely made up of people who are a lot more anti-military than any conservative veterans (or typical veterans in general) I've known. A close relative of mine was a member for several years and I even traveled across the country with him to protest the School of the Americas (SOA) at Fort Benning, Georgia when I was an impressionable teenager with little understanding of politics. Thankfully we've both woken up since then, which is more than can be said for our tubby friend here.

Todd, thank you for that catch.  While I've seen VFP signs and such here and there, I'm unfamiliar with the group.  I need to do some research on them.  Many thanks.
