SoCal

All right, west coasters, it's time to show our eastern brethren how a Ricochet meetup is really done.

Ricochet member FeliciaB has asked me to announce that she's planning a Southern California Ricochet meetup to be held at 6 PM on Saturday, February 25. The event will take place in Orange County, at the Maggiano's at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa (information about the venue can be found here).

I will be in attendance and I'm hoping that the location -- which provides access from both Los Angeles and San Diego -- will mean as many of our local members and contributors as possible will be there as well. I recommend direct messaging Felicia if you have any questions.

By the way, I'd also like to assure my southern brothers and sisters amongst the Ricochetoise that I haven't forgotten about you. I plan on being back in Nashville within the next few months and am hoping we can have a meetup then. Given that Music City is pretty geographically central to the region, I'm hoping we'll be able to welcome members from throughout the Southeast. Look for an announcement on this in the next few months.

I see how it is.  You have a SoCal meet up after I have to move away from San Diego and California.  Well, fine, I'll take my state tax money and go elsewhere.

Okay, I'm in. Do I need to wear a suit of armor? And carry a rubber chicken?

Troy,

While I applaud your use of Ricocheteoisie for the habitués of this site, I cannot approve your spelling it "Ricochetoise".

James Atkins: I'd fly all the way from SC if you held it at Henry And Harry’s Goat Hill Tavern in Costa Mesa instead...Amazing selection of beers. · 5 hours ago

Alas, Maggiano's has no craft beers on their menu, but they do offer a few Italian wines and some decent Californias.  The evening will be all about Ricochetoise [is that plural?] meeting up.  For a truly great and wide selection of craft beers, let's meet at Stone Brewing in Escondido sometime.

I'd be delighted to carpool with anybody else from coastal North County. Direct message me if interested.

Winsome personality and Bible packed away in my garage somewhere. Will need to rummage around a bit. Plan to be delightfully cherubic or just wing it. Hallelujah.

Actually Guys,

There are plenty of sidurim (prayer books) humashim (The Torah, The Five Books of Moses), tallasim (prayer shawls), and kippes (black skull caps) available at the Synagogue. No need to bring your own. The Beach, Parks, Museums, Art Gallerys, Sailing on the Intercoastal are within walking distance. Deep Sea Fishing, Scuba Diving, Horseback Riding, Lion Country Safari (the kids will love it) are a 10min drive.   If you are low on doe there is the Palm Beach Hotel.  You could call ahead and get a great deal at The Breakers Hotel.  This place is so big it's like entertainment itself.  It's got four Oceanfront Pools and a Golf Course.

It was 72 degrees today with a light Ocean Breeze.

Regards from the Island.

Banking off of the Northeast Wind, sailing on a Summer Breeze, skipping over the Ocean like a stone.

Come on down and we'll figure it out later.

The Lion Country Safari went the way of the dodo back in the roaring 80's.  They tore it down and put up a parking lot.

It's actually somewhat feasible, and I could see some long lost SoCal friends in the process.  But, the likelihood is probably very low.  Enjoy it all the same!

I had to change the venue for our meetup on the 25th.  See my post for the details:  http://ricochet.com/member-feed/When-the-Moon-Hits-Your-Eye-or-AKA-So.-Cal.-Ricochet-Meetup
Our new venue is Antonello's Ristorante right around the corner from Maggiano's.

I haven't posted much, but I would love to join in on a Ricochet meet up. But, for a politically active bunch, someone missed that the CRP convention is next weekend in Burlingame! Anyone interested in a SoCal-up-in-NorCal meetup?

Sorry to miss this one. San Diego is just a teensy bit further south so I hope lots of you will be there too!
