We at Ricochet would like to formally praise and honor Instapundit for introducing so many new readers to Ricochet last month. We thought long and hard about the best way to say "thank you" to him. After carefully considering his taste, we've decided to perform a Kecak Cult Monkey Dance in his honor. (Asking Ukrainian women to disrobe in protest of the Iranian regime for him would also have been fitting, but would have violated our Code of Conduct.)

Instapundit, this Ricochet-Ramayana Monkey Chant is for you. Thank you, and tjak-tjak-tjak!

Now if only he'd stop lending his considerable support to Net Neutrality.

Thank you Glenn!

And Thank you Claire!

Much of the past few days, for me, has been spent ignoring duelling posts from family members, as the new version of Google Earth has allowed them to zoom about places we used to live and argue over where a house or a road may have been.

One brother described a spot as "some shacks across the road" and I just remained silent.  This is what I remembered, and wanted to scream at everybody!

I loved those shacks, across the road, and the people in them!  They were my friends, growing up.  And their "shacks" were elevated on stilts, beneath which they worked in the shade.  When the entire countryside was flooded as far as the eye could see, in all directions, and we had to evacuate our home, they did not; their shacks were above the water.

Just one of those things about life, I suppose, but the folks arguing about roads and house locations have the exact opposite political viewpoints, to mine,  I still have one of their SDS buttons, that I keep as a curiousity.

Thanks for putting a big smile on my face, Ms. Berlinski!

How can we thank you enough for the lesson in cultural expansion.  Perhaps the folks of Uluwatu, Bali marvel about Mardi Gras and political conventions, or the ceremony of spring break.  Perhaps we are all living in a peculiar enclave that only appears normal to ourselves, but is equally wierd.

Yes, Glenn: Thank you!
