Yes. I thought the proprietor was remarkably restrained, even kind and sympathetic, after he laid that punk out. Had it been myself who had got the drop on him I might have tried to make sure he couldn't sit up afterward.

I like how he drags the punk around. Once confronted with a punch to the nose he becomes meek as a mouse. ............................. I think this could have turned out a lot worse if the punk had any fight in him. Clearly the clerk made a good assessment of punk's character but I'd still rather see him with a hole from a bullet than a swollen nose.
