We lost an extraordinary human being this past December with the passing of Václav Havel.  Havel’s remarkable life included great success as an artist, a dissident, and statesman.  Last week Paul Howard (of the Manhattan Institute) and I had a discussion about this singular figure.  We talked about what sort of man he was, his concept of "post-totalitarianism," his life as a dissident, and some other items.  Have a listen here.

Erie Oppression they speak of. I am grateful we don't have to live that way! Thank God!

Thanks for posting this, Flagg. Very interesting, especially the comparison between 1950s and 1980s totalitarianism.
