Areas ripe for global warming regugeeism

Gavin Atkins at Asian Correspondent.com reports:

In 2005, the United Nations Environment Program predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010. These people, it was said, would flee a range of disasters including sea level rise, increases in the numbers and severity of hurricanes, and disruption to food production.

These places included the Bahamas, St. Lucia, the Seychelles, and Solomon Islands. Well it so happens that these places also conducted a census since then and low and behold the population is on the rise in every one. The map shows the regions that were to have been affected, I suspect that none were.

Lest perfectly good doom and gloom go to waste, apparently the prediction is being recycled for 2020.  The UN can only dream.

Isn't it strange that whenever a prediction regarding global warming is testable it does not pan out?  I wonder what that means?

Much more detail here.

It means God has a great sense of humor. The UK shows Gore's movie in schools and tells kids they'll "never see snow again". London and other cities leave their snow removal equipment untended. So then in '08, '09, and '10 there's heavy - even record setting - snowfall.

Message to the poor refugees from Malibu:   I hereby volunteer to care for one of your multi-million dollar homes from now until the water rises over the satellite TV dish.

[Note: refugee owner must maintain yard and maid service, and keep all taxes paid--and I'll need two cars (e.g., the Mercedes and the Porsche)]

It appears that you do not take this crisis seriously.  How dare you ?  The best and the brightest, admittedly by their own words, are seeking to bring their wisdom to us benighted serfs, and all you can think about is getting some surf for yourself.

For Shame !!

Speaking from our perch on the the beach in the Bahamas, we haven't had to vacate just yet. Any moment, I guess.

Or maybe not. Didn't Obama say something to the effect that with him in office, we wouldn't have to worry about the oceans rising. I don't worry. Could this be his one measurably correct prediction?

Sorry.  Will I be forgiven, if I only insist on maid service and the Mercedes?

For those who did not follow the link, it should be noted that the map disappeared from the site recently, much like those climate refugees that no longer failed to appear. It is hard to test a theory when the baseline is deliberately removed/moved without justification

Yet another example of science being warped to provide support for a political ideology.
