Re: 11-11-11
Sounds like the Democrats tax policy - "But this goes to 11"

"The Boston gig has been canceled."
"What?"
"Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's not a big college town."

Re: 11-11-11
Great observation.
One could probably do a book called "The Wisdom of Spinal Tap" that would pretty well line up with magical thinking of the Left. Of course, "Spinal Tap" is a comedy. The Left is a tragedy.

It's not that the Democrats' economic policy is less popular; the voters are just getting more selective.

Great clip, and in keeping with the heavy metal theme Black Sabbath just announced a reunion album and tour. This day goes to 11!

What happened to Christopher Guest after "Best in Show"? -- it's been down hill since that high point.
"Spinal Tap" is a gem and seems to be a one-off.

Re: 11-11-11
Larry, have you seen Guest's 2003 film "A Mighty Wind"? If you've ever watched the folk spots on The Lawrence Welk Show, it'll blow your house down. So funny.

In the same vain as Spinal Tap he also did "Waiting for Guffman" about a small town acting troupe and "A Mighty Wind" about aging folk musicians. Both great improvistational mockumenteries.

Thanks for the grin, Blue Yeti...(Sorry for spoiling the "Comment" symmetry/synchronicity.)

Re: 11-11-11
Oh yes, I've seen everything by Guest. "Guffman" was done before "Best in Show" and all the ones since have been disappointing. "A Mighty Wind" has some funny parts but it bogs down and tries too hard. "For Your Consideration" was a big disappointment.
For my money the best of the lot is "Waiting for Guffman" -- it is a perfect movie.

Re: 11-11-11
Ah Spinal Tap England's loudest band. Truly one of Rocks most influential bands, and perhaps one of the funniest movies ever made. As far as I can tell next to Monty Python and the Holy Grail it is the second most quoted movie among Scientists.

Anyone who has ever been involved in any sort of local amateur dramatic production will recognize the genius of "Waiting for Guffman."
