Leftist meets Black Policeman
Just in case you haven’t seen this thing of beauty.
I did my bit today. I sat with the OR resident leftists- a couple of hearts on their sleeves white folks who keep telling me how horrible Republicans are and why I should agree with them that religious people are the source of every problem in the world, and that American police love to kill black people.
Well, this black man let them have it. I walked them through the history of the Republican party, the speeches and writings of Frederick Douglas… and I was just getting started. I told them who founded the KKK, and which states in the South were for segregation and which party their governments belonged to. I kept going, indices of economy, family stability, education of black people in America and how that has declined since welfare. Some idiot in the corner piped up about how blacks in WW2 were not educated and welfare and the 60’s had changed all that. Well, I happen to have a picture of a Tuskegee P51 Mustang as my laptop wallpaper…. I waded in with their glorious history. I spoke of the honour and character of the American “Negro” at the height of segregation and contrasted that with the black lives matter hooligans today. I quoted excerpts from Martin Luther King’s speeches and contrasted them with those of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
It was dead quiet. And then, I put on my Texas operating hat… and walked out, but not before saying.. “next time I’m in the tea room… we can really talk about the state of the American black.. and who exactly is to blame for his current state.”
Mic…. consider yourself dropped.

seriouly, whether their kinds change or not, you have planted seeds of cognitive dissonance and unsettled feelings that will fester. Yes, they may dig in their heels, but it will require immense amounts of effort on their part. Kudos!
Thank you for this post and your boldness in speaking the truth to the OR resident Leftists. You have stated the actual facts of history which repudiates the Left’s revision of history. I applaud your courage in speaking the real truth to power. In order to heal from where 0bama has taken the country, voices of Black Americans as yourself and Sheriff Clarke are essential to the conversation in order to point out that the dream is for all Americans to be judged by the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin.

I think we are at a tipping point for this kind of thing, meaning these left-wing socialist experiments and conceits. They are losing and need more and more propaganda reinforcement to keep the believers on the plantation.
Obama is visibly angry at these shootings. Certainly he doesn’t want police to get shot randomly, but that’s not at the core of the anger. These thugs are making things politically difficult for Democrats and racialists. BLM seems an attractive and useful political cause as long as they are the perceived victims, until people start targeting innocent policemen. When he says “this helps no cause” or something like it, he’s community organizing, lecturing to how to really get change. He is of course, right. Bad timing to provoke a backlash in public opinion (I’m sure that’s somewhere in the Alinsky playbook)
I didn’t, but I mentioned that one of the murdered Baton Rouge police officers was black. The most satisfying thing about the exchange was the black nurse in the corner who was nodding her head and smiling as I was in full swing. They kept looking at her for repudiation….. nada. The only words she uttered were.. “entitlement is killing black folks”.
… and as @Antipodius leave the room, a certain air is heard on the breeze …

I always try to come across as patient and wise in these encounters, but somehow I always end up shouting and waving my arms wildly. Some recently deprogrammed progressives could probably make a living doing “how to talk to progressives” seminars.
