IRS Commish: ‘Wherever We Can, We Follow the Law’

House Holds Hearing On IRS Response To Targeting ScandalWhile the circle tightens around America’s least popular commissioner, a far more important commissioner again revealed the contempt for the law to which we’ve all grown accustomed:

During another grueling hearing on the ObamaCare rollout, the head of the IRS tried to offer lawmakers an assurance about the soon-to-open enrollment period.

“Whenever we can, we follow the law,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told the House Ways and Means subcommittee on health on Wednesday.

Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), who leads the subcommittee, immediately expressed his concern with the remarks.

“I encourage you to follow the law in all instances,” Brady said.

I know that a violent NFL player is the only news story going on right now, but could our ADHD press cover the IRS mess for a while? Though not filmed in a hotel elevator, Koskinen’s comments are below:

“Wherever we can we follow the law.”  Whistled right past the prefrontal cortex on that one.

I’ve heard that if you try this when being issued a traffic citation you get a pass, works every time. Following the law can be tough, cops are sympathetic to this. Trust me.

“Officer whenever I can, I obey our speed limits.”

But come on, Jon … how can we focus on any past scandal when there were so many of them? It would be discriminatory, and we can’t have that.

Why don’t we just merge them into one? Let’s ask Chuck Todd to check up on the story of how we lost Bowe Bergdahl’s emails in Beghazi, where he was working for Lois Lerner when she was the head of the Veterans Administration? By the time he’s done unraveling the threads, he may just remember that he was supposed to be covering these stories.

Whoa.  Rein it in, Kevin.  Don’t go so postal on him.

Sheesh.  That’s all the dudgeon he could muster in response to an outrageous, indefensible, astonishing piece of arrogant crap from the head of America’s most feared domestic agency???  Pathetic.  Just pathetic.

I just checked both Bing and Google news aggregators.   The default page for both does not have any articles cited with anthing to do with the IRS.   When I searched for “IRS,”  this story is buried and you have to know what you are looking for to find a link to the article at The Hill that Jon provided in the post.

Drilling down further, you find this story only appearing in conservative niche media (Washington Times, the Blaze, et al).   This item has not been picked up by any of the lamestream media.   Not even Fox has it yet.

I’ haven’t heard about the IRS scandal from Federal candidates running in MN. Anyone around the country hear Republicans running on this issue? It seems like a 70,000 page tax code, corruption and political targeting from a Federal agency is something you could run on.

He’s the effin’ guy who’s behind Darth Vadar.  I would pay to see Koskinen eaten alive by wolves. Just don’t reveal the images to TMZ, for he would become sympathetic.

“Whenever we can, we follow the law,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told the House Ways and Means subcommittee on health on Wednesday.    Sure, it’s a good line for your tax audit, but still doesn’t top “My computer ate my records.” The IRS has been so helpful leading by example.
