It is kind of strange answering my own question but I guess that is the way life is sometimes.
Now with various characters. You can carriage return, have bold, underscoring, and italics. And as I showed in a previous post carriage return is also now possible.
Here are the things to try for iPad users.
Carriage return put the characters
this is "left arrow p right arrow".
Thanks to Tom Lindholtz for the bold solution. This is to turn on and to turn off.
Italics is to turn on and to turn off.
Underlining is to turn on and to turn off.
These format codes also work in Personal Messages to other members in iPad and Windows.
Give it a try.

I have found an answer to the carriage return problem. If you add the characters
(arrow p arrow) in to the text this will put a carriage return in.
So
Hello
Hello

becomes
Hello
Hello

Tom Lindholtz: All I've been able to do is straight text. No paragraphs, formatting, inserts, editing So I just try towrite carefully.
BrentB67: Tom nails it, also not able to Quote previous comments.
If you put more than 1 carriage return it seems to add a space between paragraphs, just know that before you post it will look ridiculous.
Skid McBrick: Couldn't post the body of a new conversation, no quoting.
