The short version of my question: what has been the response to dismayingly frequent stories like this?

The longer question: Are there any good sites/blogs that are tracking and summarizing the situation in Wisconsin? Specifically the jobs situation, the state's fiscal outlook, and the recall election etc.

I occasionally see helpful summaries from Christian Schneider, but I'm just wondering if any Badger State Ricochetoise have good resources or insights that are more nuanced than what I'm reading nationally.

Ann Althouse, a professor of law at UW, has had some good blog posts, and she is no knee-jerk conservative. Go to the search box in the upper left and look for 'recall'.

Diane Ellis: I second this recommendation. Ann has been exceptionally thorough in documenting the Wisconsin political scene.
