I am flying to DC for an Axelrod family wedding tomorrow morning (yes that axelrod).  I then plan to go to Troy, NY to visit my old school and some friends.  My question is: Do the trains run if its snowing?

A crucial leg of my journey relies on the train and I need to be as certain as possible that it will be running when I need it.

Thanks All!

I am not a frequent traveler between DC and NY, but I have taken the train and once, when heading to a little stop just beyond Albany during an ice storm, I was told by the conductor that it is extremely rare for trains to be halted by bad weather.  In that particular case we did have trouble because the storm affected power in the  stations, so people had to be bused from Albany forward, but we were otherwise unaffected.  I do  not know, though, what happened a couple of years ago when the northeast had huge snowfalls.  However, the forecast for the weekend looks pretty decent.  Good luck!
