Could a president have had dual citizenship?
Before I pose this question, let me state up front I have no question about Obama's birth in Hawaii. My question concerns whether Obama got dual citizenship when he moved with his step father and mother to Indonesia. Could he have lived in Indonesia, attended school, without his father getting him Indonesian citizenship? What were the rules for American/other country dual citizenship in the late 1960s? Does dual citizenship expire if one leaves Indonesia and returns to the US? Under what passport did Obama travel when he returned to Hawaii? Is it possible for someone's passport history to be discovered?
I always thought the whole birth certificate thing was invented as a distraction; maybe Obama's passport(s) history is more interesting.
If Obama did have dual citizenship at some point in his life, does it matter in terms of eligibility to be president?
