The most Christian of all Christmases?
Is an Occupy Wall Street Christmas the most Christian of all Christmases? That is the claim of an OWS member in this video. At one point in the video Clyde Kuemmerle of the Ecclesia Ministries of New York says, “If God loves all of us equally, then it must mean that what God gave to all of us, should be shared by all of us.” First, I do not understand how God is directly responsible for the allocation of material goods. Even if He were, I’m not sure why an equal distribution of goods would be necessary or even justifiable. Furthermore, this seems to be a part of the long progressive tradition of applying Christian ethics to social problems in an attempt to show that Christianity is not only compatible with Socialism, but cannot properly exist without it. However, the more important thing to learn from this video is that OWS members will repeat anything and everything, regardless of how dumb it may be.

Re: The most Christian of all Christmases?
I had to excuse myself from an Episcopal sermon several weeks ago that posited that Christ was the OWSer of His day.

Is that Trotsky in a cap in background on the left of the picture. And we thought he was done for all those years ago in Mexico...

Does God love us all equally? Not sure how someone could conclude that.
On the other hand, I believe that all I have comes from God and therefore belongs to God. This is why I feel compelled to be generous and hospitable, to be wise and prudent with the dispensation of my funds, to tithe to church, and to give to charity. But the fact that I believe all I have belongs to God is no justification whatsoever for the government –a man-made institution–to seize everything from me.
