Dartmouth Students' Zero Tolerance for Pro-Life Speech
Yesterday at my alma mater, Vita Clamantis, Dartmouth's pro-life student group put up an exhibit of 546 small American flags on the lawn outside of one of the dormitory buildings. Each flag represented 100,000 lives that have been aborted in the 39 years since Roe v. Wade. Vita Clamantis explained on their blog that the purpose of the display, called the "Cemetery of the Innocents,"
is not to condemn but to ask for forgiveness and to promise hope, to promise ourselves and each other that we will do better, we will care better, we will be better. We put these flags out to ask every Dartmouth student a simple question: when your friend, your sister, your cousin, your neighbor, finds herself in this crisis, afraid and uncertain, feeling like the decision of her life weighs upon her, what will you do?
On every secular college campus, abortion is no doubt a hot button issue. But the way the display was received by fellow students is truly disappointing. The Dartmouth Review's Editor-in-Chief Emeritus, Sterling Creighton Beard, reports on the stunning intolerance put on display at the College yesterday.
The display has been under assault ever since it went up. The signs put up around the edge of the event explaining its purpose were defaced, though Vita quickly replaced them. Some flags were stolen. Someone planted a sign (viewable in the slideshow at the top) that reads "May the child you save be GAY." (emphasis in the original)
Nothing, however, quite prepared the Cemetery of the Innocents for the assault that was to come at approximately 1:40, when a Toyota Camry...allegedly drove through the flags before continuing down the street.

The common left view is that the right want the babies but then do not want to support the child for the next twenty years. Then there is the view that there are too many people in the world so who cares. I like the idea of having colour coded flags and show the stats that such a large number are black.Mitch Daniels saying to stay away from the abortion and gay marriage issue does have validity in order to get elected. Once you are in, then you can influence the public discussion. Canadian Content warning: the Conservatives in Canada have won by focusing on economics and soccer mums. They support families and communities - tax breaks for sports activities for kids, as an example. The few times The Prime Minister speaks publically, interviews or writes articles, is about the long term economy and soccer mums getting support to raise happy families. We hear him at the G8 saying Canada is open for business, we have oil gas, natural resources galore. His elevator pitch is exciting for us (former) business owners as he is pitching for us. If you have happy families, there are less abortions. Forget about lectures.

The abortion debate today is much like the slavery debates in many respects: Indifference or hostility in the face of horror.
Yes. I have long felt that the comparison of abortion to slavery is very appripos, as both require the supporter/perpetrator to treat the victim as less than human. ยท Apr 20 at 9:48am
I believe it was Thomas Sowell talking about this same thing. Basically, all you need is a label to dehumanize people. Call a person a [N-word] and you may deny them their human rights and enslave them; call a child a fetus and you may kill it. The left claims they hate labels but they are very effective at wielding them.

The left claims they hate labels but they are very effective at wielding them.
As Dennis Prager says, the Left uses the "SIXHIRB" labels to marginalize opponents and end discussion, since anyone so labelled obviously has nothing legitimate to say: "Sexist, Islamaphobic, Xenophobic, Homophobic, Intolerant, Racist, Bigoted."

I've never known colleges to be a hot-bed of tolerance and understanding. On the contrary, if one holds views that are contrary to the current dogma, one risks life and limb. It's no surprise to me the Anti-Choice movement received such a poor reception.

Here is an article about the rising abortions of females by Asian parents. The pro choice feminists can not say this is wrong or it's not right to choose to sex select abortions. http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/04/21/george-jonas-on-sex-selection-abortion-you-havent-come-such-a-long-way/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
