Joe Scarborough made this comparison in Politico. I thought it was fantastic. It also got me thinking about Athlete-Politician comparisons. I'm curious what you guys can come up with. Here's an (optimistic) one to start: Dirk Nowitzki = Mitt Romney....

I actually have to disagree with that comparison. LeBron is in fact highly competent- I mean obviously not when it counts the most, but that cannot be said about Obama!

I would say Obama is JaMarcus Russell- doesn't understand the fundamentals (among many other problems) but could still be supported relentlessly by a niche- in Russell's case, a desperate franchise with a fetish for the highly talented (Russell could throw the ball 75 yards on his knees). In Obama's case, liberals.

To say that Obama is LeBron is to claim that Obama is a freak of nature (in a good way). Sure they're both pop-culture sensations, sure I guess you could say Obama doesn't have a ring (but what is winning an election?).

Obama is not "blessed with a set of skills". He is an incompetent ideologue, who was blessed to have a highly skilled team of mad men who cooked up a fancy logo, a catch-phrase, and a poster. He's a joke. But LeBron is the man!

This could be a lot of fun though.
