Wow! Local News Reporter Asks Obama About Libya, Crony Capitalism and Civility

Matt Welch absolutely humiliated Douglas Brinkley by quoting the first five questions he asked President Obama for the recent Rolling Stone interview:

  1. Let’s start with how the campaign has been going. Ever since the first debate, Romney has abruptly shifted his position on a whole host of issues, from his tax plan to financial regulation.

Dear Mr. Clark, Thank you. I was absolutely delighted and enthralled to see your interview with President Obama. I am so proud to live in a state that can support and appreciate the hard questions you asked and am, again, so grateful to have seen a ray of light in a news media environment desperately in need of more questions like your own. I’m sharing your interview as widely as I can so that your laudable efforts are seen as widely as can be. Thank you again. Kindly, Gabriel Sullice Student, CU Boulder Golden, CO

Brinkley is a fawn-artist. His objectivity is revealed in his concluding essay to Obama’s “Official Inaugural Book.” The essay is described as a “medita(tion) on the global stature of the man.”  It’s an Inaugural book. Shouldn’t a historian wait for events to happen before drawing conclusions?

Brinkley can serve up hoary clichés: “(Obama) defied odds makers and transcended race to become the 44th president of the United States.” Really? How about the more realistic conclusion: he was elected because of his race. When his VP said Republicans want to put Blacks back in chains, was that Transcendence?  (Again, care to wait for history to happen before concluding why and what it means?)

Then there’s this: “Barack Obama’s inauguration stands as the most uplifting public spectacle in contemporary American history since Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.”

At least Arthur Schlesinger waited for JFK’s actual service as President before trotting out hagiography.

Notice Mr Clark’s closing remark about having many more questions to ask?

9News is an NBC affiliate.  Couldn’t believe Kyle Clark actually confronted Obama.  Kyle’s stock is on the rise.  Finally someone in MSM has guts.

    I followed Mama Toad’s lead:

Hi Kyle, Thank you.  You are head and shoulders above all the MSM reporters.  None of them will dare ask the tough questions.  You raised the bar.  I see Jake Tapper took notice.  Now maybe some of the supposed reporters will come out and actually report. I wish you the best, I have the feeling good things are in store for you. Stan Hjerleid – Fort Collins

My ten-year-old knows that batteries are not a source of energy.  Just sayin’.  Thanks for the link.

  9. Anne R. Pierce

And then there’s the Brian Williams interview – equally insipid and obsequious. Add it all up, and all I can say is, Wow.

  10. The King Prawn

So I’m guessing this guy isn’t moving up the MSM hierarchy any time soon.

Linking someone from Reason? Don’t you know they are single-minded over there?

Great post – looks like some of the  administration’s outrages are leaking out of the conservative new media into the mainstream (albeit local) media.

Obama went into full-blown filibuster mode on the last two questions Kyle Clark asked.  Clark can bring the heat.

If Douglas Brinkley were any more of a tool, he’d have “Stanley” stamped on him somewhere.

  15. PJ Kellogg

    Major filibuster.

    Answer. The. Questions.

  16. PJ Kellogg

“Mr. President, we have plenty more questions…”

…because you filibustered and gave 5-minute obfuscations rather than answering succinctly and honestly to the voters.

Ha, I thought of you just after I’d posted that comment.  Guess I should’ve picked a different amphibian. ;-)
