What Is Science?

I feel as though that’s a question that I would not have had a problem answering in grade school, but seems less precise now. I would have said that science was the study of the natural world. Now, I’m not so sure.  

It’s at once a set of evidence to a conclusion, as in, “The science suggests…”  

It’s also some sort of god-like figure that doles out truth, as in, “Science has determined that so-and-so exists.”
