On Benghazi: Full Disclosure Is Needed

David Ignatius–not seen at any time working for the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy–argues that more information and transparency is needed regarding the Obama administration’s actions in response to the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi. He appears to be hopeful that we might get more information this week, but I have to say that I am skeptical. After all, the Obama Administration has gone this long keeping vital information from the rest of the public and the election is just six days away. Why risk putting out new information that might make the administration look so bad so close to Election Day?

Of course, I would be glad to be wrong. I would also have been glad if liberal blogs and much of the mainstream media–the latter being filled with actors that work to fulfill many of the same functions as liberal blogs–would have put more pressure on the Obama Administration to level with the American people from the very beginning about what happened in Benghazi, and to disclose the maximum amount of information possible from the outset. But alas, much of the media worked hand in glove with liberal blogs to tell us that when it came to Benghazi, there was nothing to see and that we all should just move along.

They were wrong to think so, and they were wrong to try to make us think so. But that doesn’t matter to them. There is an election to win and the truth must be suppressed until at least November 7th.

It depends on whether Gingrich was right on Greta’s show last night about emails that supposedly two networks have, that definitely show the President’s office involved in telling everybody to stand down.

If those break out in the next couple of days, they may have to say something else. I don’t think they can hunker down and weather that storm without some response.

The President’s office – or the President himself? Mainly because it gives me sour amusement, and not because its truth is established, I have pictured BO watching the whole battle with ovine incomprehension. But maybe he wasn’t watching it at all. Maybe he wasn’t even there. If the last, I can easily see him blaming underlings. Why wasn’t I informed?

But maybe this is a trivial detail. Even if he was there, he’d say Why wasn’t the full significance of these events explained to me?  Remember, with this guy, it’s never about whom he’s letting down; it’s about who is letting him down.

Why indeed would the press ever consider lying and incompetence in the oval office be newsworthy?

When this election is over, the media will have overplayed their hand and all those who participated in covering up the Obama scandals will be relegated to the dustbin where Baghdad Bob’s ashes swirl uselessly.

I was getting some dental work done today and my Dentist is livid over Benghazi.  She is ex-military.  Whether this gets out before election or not (probably not), it’s not going away.  I think there is a silent groundswell that is going to manifest itself on election day.

I realize that we are so far down in the pecking order that we have no clue what’s going on.  I will say I found a blogger/investigator Adina Kutnicki that has a lot to say on the subject.  See her article here. Not light reading.

I am not the least surprised to know that the MSM is carrying Obama’s water. What I AM surprised at is that no one in the military has spoken up! ?Where are the flag officers to be outraged. ?Why haven’t any resigned in protest. ?How come they ALL seem dumb.

I would propose that when Romney gets into office he needs to do a thorough cleansing of the Pentagon. Not just the Joint Chiefs, but those below who have not had the courage to speak up.

We got too many flags anyway.

This isn’t going away.  A local afternoon drive time talk show has featured this for 3 days running now.  It rarely takes something to a second day.  The effect on the election will be nill.  The country is split and people have already made up their minds.

Bottom line:  We care. Democrats don’t.
