I Can Read Your Mind

This is both interesting and scary:

  1. Sweezle

Scary. And another good reason to leave your profile sketchy. Even at Ricochet.

  2. Whiskey Sam

I guess I should start using a fake profile pic.

    W.S. You are too much!

I sent the You-Tube link to our corporate security guru.

When does he start vetting Obama?

Obama was vetted. The majority decided they didn’t care. That’s how it works with cult of personality leaders. After enough people buy in, they’re invincible. Lots of people at Jonestown drank the koolaid willingly, after all. There were still volunteers defending the Fuhrerbunker to the last in 1945, and even in America, FDR is still revered by many as a savior, even with all the evidence we have of his destructive policies. People can be, to put it bluntly, stupid.

In Eastern Europe today, some people are celebrating Stalin’s birthday as “the good ole’ days”.

To willing cultists, cult leaders can do no wrong. Twenty years from now, the people that loved Obama will continue to love him, and will use public schools to mandate that your children love him too. God help us if the  man is ever assasinated. His portraits and statues will be everywhere, and virtually everything would be renamed for him.

It’s Facebook, I tell you. Save yourselves while you still can.

  7. Pseudodionysius

    And people call me paranoid.

    DocJay,

You posted on the wrong thread again. This is about mind reading where your comment clearly belongs on the “End of Ricochet?” or “Update Post”.  I love your idea.  This could save a lot of money. I was going to use a preposition in talking about the business model but I am afraid to.  Let’s say the prospects are looking … er … better.  :-)

DocJay: Rob, you’ll save money cutting the 100 mg Viagra in half rather than paying for the 50 mg dose. Just saying’. · 7 hours ago

    Douglas- Well said..

I noticed that one of the guys in the black mask was looking at Ricochet.

Yikes! And this is why I resist using “convenient” online banking and bill payment services and thoroughly resent attempts to force me to use such by charging exorbitant fees for paper statements.

I saw facebook there, but not on everybody.

To hackers, the technique is known as “doxing”. Rarely does it not turn up some random information, but as I understand it, doxing returns random snippets. Notice how he didn’t go over the same categories with each person? He used what he had to work with, which was still a lot.

However, if it WASN’T mostly facebook, then where else could all that information be dug up? Do we intentionally advertise ourselves, or what? I can’t imagine putting one’s bank information on Facebook…

What was really scary were the hugs.

    Dude.  Step off.

I like the lifelock flamethrower  better. Where was Will Smith during all this ?

Douglas ,we better hope the parallels with Stalin end at a couple of statues and some school namings. I imagine an inquisitive American knows a great deal more about Uncle Joe than a Russian .

I see Obama as a potential fascist yes, but collectivism in a country without a peasant culture in it’s past just won’t fit . As for inappropriate memorializing , think about the crime stats based on street names and see what the numbers do when you compare streets named after MLK with streets named after trees . Now there is a sad story .

I’m fine with the seasonal adjustment to your profile pic. I’m just hoping the smoking monkey returns after the holidays. I miss him.

Lard up your Facebook info with false stuff.

We don’t need a peasant culture, just a culture that believes they are living like dirt. Peasants were historically happy to live their lives until something upset their balance and their living conditions worsened, be that higher taxes or abuse.

Mislabel things as abuse, and you create the peasant culture.

Let not your hearts be troubled. This is merely another benign step towards  the immanentization of the eschaton.

Washington, District of Columbia: At least two of those words could be changed so as to cease honouring dead white males, in favour of The One.
