Dave Carter Bowl – Any Interest?

Inspired by Ricochet’s foremost SEC fan, I was thinking of making a Ricochet ESPN College Bowl Mania group. Any interest?

You can read about it here. If I get 5+ people interested, I’ll make a group and post the info to the member feed sometime next week after Saturday’s minor Indianapolis formality.

  1. CuriousJohn

Put me down   …… Go Bucky

  2. DocJay

I can’t see I freely bleed SEC but I’m quite interested and wear my Tigers shirts weekly.

  3. AUChief

Count me in even though my Tigers are coach hunting rather than bowling! Still love ‘em, though.

  4. rosegarden sj dad

I’m in. Go Stanford. If it hadn’t been for loopy refs we’d be in the Title Game.

  5. Palaeologus

If the Badgers weren’t starting their eighth string QB I’d give ‘em even odds in that game, but you likely have the right of it QBF.

    Anyway, I’m interested.

  6. Jimmy Carter

I’m in, so long as I receive a traditional Queen Claire Glory Badge when I win.

  7. Joe

It’s a plan, guys, looking forward to it. I’ll make the group and post the name, password info, and links both on this thread and a new one on Sunday, to get the word out.

You know, I’m actually going with Wisconsin. An Abbrederis-Evans match up is bound to go to the former, and a Steinkuhler-less line is going to mean a couple more for Ball every run. It’ll be a fun game.

My internet connection is tenuous this morning, though not as tenuous as my Georgia friends’ connection to reality. That said, if they best Alabama, I’ll pick them over Notre Dame. Then again, I picked Romney… I’m in!

  9. Illiniguy

I don’t know how excited I can get about this, since it’s already baked in the cake that Georgia’s going to beat Alabama on Saturday and then reprise its 1981 17-10 victory over Notre Dame to win the national championship. Go Dawgs. – Illiniguy (Georgia Law, 1980)

Wisconsin will find a way to lose late. Just one of those years.

What an impressive season; Harbaugh and Luck certainly left their mark. Good luck to the Cardinal today vs. the Bruins.

Here’s the new posting in the member feed, in case you didn’t see it.

You’re given a selection of this year’s 35 bowl games.  For each bowl game you pick the winner, then rank the bowl games by confidence from 1 to 35, with 35 counting for the most. You can change the ranking up until the start of the game, so selections aren’t final. You receive the number of confidence points you assigned for the games you correctly gue…I mean, select. It’s an interesting dynamic, in that you feel more comfortable picking upsets, so long as you rank them low in confidence.

If you go to the ESPN College Bowl Mania website, you can join the Ricochet group. You’ll need to have a (free) ESPN account or link your Facebook account; I’d recommend making an ESPN account, which only requires a valid email (though they’ll ask for your name and birthday as they did for my 99 year old “Napoleon Bonaparte” self).

Group Name: Ricochet Bowl (If the link above didn’t take you there, it’s My Groups -> Join a Group -> Search “Ricochet Bowl”)
