Here he is giving the smack down on the true presence priests and the pope. Really surprising.

From FoxNews:

'she was a passenger on a golf cart involved in a collision in a private gated community," the statement said.

"She was airlifted to Miami Children's Hospital with a head injury. She has been admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She is in fair condition."'

The current climate for doctors is as follows:

1) increasing bureaucracy/red tape

2) increasing technological demands (electronic medical records)

3) increasing complexity of care

4) increasing patient/family expectations

5) increasing cost of education

6) increasing demand for care.

What is decreasing? Not much except payments and the number of appointments available.

I am sure a breaking point is coming soon but most people have NO IDEA how bad it is getting, especially for primary care docs. Access is going to become a major issue very soon for just about everyone.

Being a doctor is wonderful but its just too much time and demand and stress if you don't feel you are properly compensated.

I would caution my kids strongly if they plan medical careers. I am a young physician and most of my mentors' kids went into Investment banking and business.

So true. I get these 5 page e-letters from other docs that summarize one 5 minute visit, crazy. All to get a higher billing level. They run on and on and say very little. You just can't believe some of these notes.

All this leads inevitably away from fee-for-service and toward bundled payments does it not?

I have a theory about Romney....

I think he is sitting quiet right now, studying hard for the debates. I remember when he said in the primaries that he 'would not have to ask Tim Geithner how the economy works' and I thought wow theres a fighter.  I could not wait to hear him say that to Obama face-to-face. I think he is saving his firepower for that and its going to be a great show.

HOLD ON!!! Am I the only one who thinks the tax plan is not half bad?

I love that you guys mentioned Travelling Riverside Blues. That one is a great slide guitar track by Page. Loose, raw and funky...

How Many More Times moves like a speeding Mac truck downhill...

Ten Years Gone has a killer, triumphant riff...

I have to say Immigrant Song should be the GOP battle song this year..."Always sweeping and pushing on, our only goal will be the Western Shore!"

Ocean is great, the opening guitar riff in 7/4 time is amazing. I love Bonham's drums on the beginning of "when the levee breaks" and the flanger'ed drum track on Kashmir.

Shortage of generic chemotherapy drugs. Too expensive to produce due to regs, legal liability, lack of profits. Effects medical practice profoundly and surprisingly getting little press.

How about three Zep songs with Lord of the Rings references?

1) Misty Mountatin Hop: Its the name of the mountain range featured in the Hobbit.

2) Ramble On: "In the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair, but Gollum, that evil one, crept up and slipped away with her."

3) Battle of Evermore: "the Ringwraiths ride in black"

Any others?

South Bound Suarez is a great one that is seldom heard. Where did that piano come from? Shows how versatile.

I also love the storyline on Gallow's pole.

For all you guitarists, Over the Hills and Far Away is the all-time funnest song to play...

And Robert Plant provides some classic screaming in 'Since I've Been Loving You."

The problem is you have to schedule a full slate of patients but it is unpredictable how much time and individual person will require.

On the other hand, doctors still enjoy a high level of respect in general. I would do it again. Notably, most of my mentors' kids are going into investment banking and business.

Actually it's much worse out there for doctors than many people realize. Many pediatricians and primary care doctors make less than nurses. The burden of compliance with regulations grows heavier. We are increasingly being asked to do more with less resources. It has become harder and harder to get tests and medications approved. On top of all this, patient expectations are higher than ever. One of my colleagues just got chewed out by a patient's son for running late in the office. People have no idea how bad it is out there.

I just finished my medical training and recently had a conversation with an Obamacare supporter who was extolling the virtues of the new legislation. He said he didn't mind if orthopedic surgeons salaries were cut in half because they make enough money to begin with. I told him not to complain when he needs a hip replacement someday and he has to wait six months and the doctor has no idea what he's doing nor does he speak English.
