This Freedom from Religion group, if they were honest, would call themselves Freedom from Christianity, since that is all they concerned with. If they post ads like this for other world religions, then they can keep their name.

But they won't do that. Forget about them.

Face it, no one from the 1950s performs anymore. Rockers from 60s are taking their last bow, 70s dudes are long in the tooth, 80s are total nostalgia, 90s are 'veterans' and new century ones are just that.

I don't like any of them making political pronouncements from the stage, either.

What bugs me most is the so called 'classic rock' radio format. a tiny list of under 1000 songs from the 70s that just get played over and over. Most overplayed groups are (from US) Eagles, from UK, Led Zeppelin. Not much latae 60s stuff either at this point.

I grew up with 70s rock. I know it. But I don't want to hear it that often , so I don't listen to rock radio -- stopped long ago.

I have promised myself that next time I won't miss this.

Maybe at some level the Euro-lefties know it  can't be paid for over the long  term, but are just not willing to do anything/alienate anyone for it. Europe's day of reckoning is pretty much here. We're also on the path -- there's still time to turn it around-- but not much.  A change at the top this November will be a good place to start.

Maybe the Wisconsin unions know the gravy train can't go on forever, but will just wait for the trainwreck before being willing to give up anything at all.

WSJ had an article about 5 years ago how there were a lot of scenes cut from that movie thathey still existed, and there was a clamor by fans to re release the movie  with them -- and some young studio exec/punk  refused, saying "It's a dated movie and I don't find it funny".... and at least as of that point, those deleted scenes have not been seen by anyone.

RB

Well, Mark Steyn often writes about the moral and cultural collapse of Europe -- this makes his case quite well.

To quote Ms. Berlinksi ,who recently wrote in a nearby post, "It's an authentic American cultural tradition to descend into collective hysteria about race relations every few years."

That sums it up pretty well, I'd say

Well, there's that age-old saying about the lottery:

Someone's going to win, and it won't be you.

I'm originally from NJ and remember Springsteen when he was just a local curiosity that no one knew what to make of. ... you could see him at Seton Hall for $2.50. He had some friends at Rolling Stone that really helped him break into the big time.

Needless to say I didn't get the religion, altho I liked his later stuff better than early stuff. But he's clearly a tedious liberal multimillionaire, which would be ok except it gets into the act sometimes. He did lose some fans when he came out in a big way for Kerry -- I'm sure he's not losing any sleep over it.  Actually, I liked his 90s-in-the-doldrums stuff like Lucky Town better than stuff before or since.

Always happy to do what I can for groups who are out there fighting the good fight. Being DC based, (actually just up Wisconsin Ave in MD, with its Obama-in-training governor O'Malley) I will make an effort to show my face at at least one gathering. Your group is welcome to email me any time!

The more I think about and read about The Toxic Blight of Obamacare, and The Toxic Blight of Obama in general, the madder I get. I did, btw, make a donation (albeit small) to support the efforts of Ms. Higgins' group. I am glad there are people out on the front lines doing everything they can to kill ObamaCare. Some care it's gonna be -- put a stake through the heart of this monster while we can.

He was/is a strange man.

Well, some folks like me and others here saw BHO for what he is, right from the start. As I am fond of saying, ' a thin resume and a huge ego combined make for trouble.'

For others, it's been a learning process. I guess there's a whole group of people who really believed in him, and now wonder why.

RB

Thank you for taking the time to do the research, put it out there, and for having the thick skin to endure to insults and threats that are then directed to you. Mark Steyn has a good line he uses in some articles ..."Some societies are just too stupid to survive...."  He may be onto something.

Having in the past worked in the science publishing field, I can state that Elsevier are just sharks.
