People Michael Pate is Following

As a child, I was watching "Star Track" before I could even read.
I loved TNG when it first came on. Although in retrospect, the first season was abysmal - especially the season finale when they lecture the people they revived from the 20th century. The second season was much better and the show really really became good for the next few seasons - until the final, which was nearly as bad as the first.
DS9 started out slow but once the way got going became more and more interesting - it helped when they let Avery Brooks grow his beard and shave his head again. But the story lines became much more mature.
Voyager's first 3 seasons were pretty bad - but once 7 of 9 joined the cast it became much better - except for the abysmal catfish episode.
I suffered through the first 3 seasons of Enterprise - the 9/11 inspired-disaster season was just so terrible - but I understand the final season was much improved. I just haven't had time to watch it on NetFlix.
Being a Librarian, I have been following all this for a while.
While it may not have been proven, the fact is that 3 of the Publishers have already settled so it means they chose not to contest the case.
It is unclear as to how any of this affects author royalties - which are usually pretty low to start with.
What I think is really going on is that as the publishing industry transforms into e-publishing, the traditional strengths that publishers have in terms of creating hard cover books and getting them distributed go away. There have been numerous examples of self-published or small independent publishers books hitting the top of the ebook charts without any of the traditional support promotions. This strikes terror in the hearts of the publishing company executives.
Agency pricing is popular with publishing executives because it pays for them.
I really think it was a matter of timing - when every other not-Romney imploded, he was the last one left when Iowa arrived. Then Newt got a second chance by winning South Carolina, imploded again, and Rick was able to hang onto the not-Romney banner.
But he would have been a horrendous candidate in the General Election. After the MSM got done with him, moderates would have been streaming to the ballot box in November to vote against him as a religious fanatic. He simply could not win and it was high time he left.
And while I am concerned for his daughter's health, I think this has been in the works since last week when he and his staff took the weekend off.

The problem Israel has is that we no longer accept the idea nation can claim conquered territory legitimately. · 54 minutes ag |
Since when? If Argentina had won the Falklands War back in the 80's, I don't think anyone on the left would be condemning them for adding to their territory. After all, the territory we are talking about was captured by the British when they won the Battle of Megiddo in 1918.
Every square inch on the planet was conquered by someone at some point - even if they gave or sold it to someone else later.
My father has been a Florida Gators fan his entire life and it rubbed off on me even though I didn't attend Florida.
I still remember hearing about this kid from Jacksonville who was running up big numbers in high school and thinking about attending UF.

The first thing I look for in a Republican field is experience as a Governor and experience outside of Washington. Romney was the Governor of Massachusetts and therefore has executive experience. He has never been in Washington.
Running the 2002 Winter Olympics and serving as Governor shows that he has ability in taking on complex problems at the state and local level. I think this bodes well for his abilities as President.
Most of his experience comes from outside government and academia. He has actually made decisions about whether something was going to thrive or fail without the benefit of a government safety net.
He supports Israel and the traditional foreign policy of goals of the United States. He recognizes that how we move forward with China is going to be on the fundamental issues of this century. His views on immigration ("self-deportation") is the most practical solution I have heard.
His healthcare plan in Massachusetts was clearly a mistake but he has articulated clearly that every state should have the opportunity to find what works and a single system imposed by Washington is never going to be the answer.
"In the New Deal era, the Court held that a single farmer, growing wheat for his own use on his own farm was influencing interstate commerce by absenting himself from the market."
The farmer was doing something - growing wheat. The Individual Mandate is very different: It would give the government the power to force the farmer to grow wheat.
"Many forms of Government have been tried and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." - Winston Churchill
"What really was going on was that the crowd reaction to Sherrod’s comments caught on the tape was very damaging to the NAACP and those who attacked the Tea Party movement as racist. The crowd cheered when Sherrod recounted her long-ago hostility to the white farmer, and that crowd reaction was the real story. Focusing the debate on the editing of the tape was a convenient distraction." - http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/03/saturday-night-card-game-repeat-after-me-the-shirley-sherrod-tape-was-not-misleading/ via http://pjmedia.com/instapundit/138292/
You would think Gregory would have known better after what Newt did to John King. But even after Newt gave him multiple opportunities to change the subject, he just couldn't do it.
The DS9 follow-up episode with the 3 Captains was http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Blood_Oath_(episode).
I loved when Rob complained about the TOS abbreviation... that people have been using ever since TNG was launched a quarter century ago.
I think everyone is missing the point on whether the video was edited or not. It was the crowd reaction to what she said that was the key issue, because they didn't know she what she was going to say later. Cheryl Cook and the Obama Administration were responsible for Sherrod's resignation, not Andrew. http://www.nowpublic.com/world/usdas-cheryl-cook-asked-shirley-sherrod-pull-over-and-resign-2642433.html
It's funny how many articles written shortly after the election like Obama—who won 78% of Jewish vote—faces global disarray, Mideast challenges and Syria-Israel negotiations: reality and prospects and Obamamania in Damascus were all about how that once Obama was in the White House and not that cowboy that Syria, Israel and the United States were surely going to be the best of friends.
If Santorum secures the nomination because the UAW and the other unions cajoled enough Democrats to cross over and vote for him in Michigan, I think it will be a dark day. But I actually don't think that is going to happen.
"Color Splash" - because everyone should have the enthusiasm of David Bromstad
"The Voice" - because no one can guarantee that everyone will succeed equally and talent does matter
"American Chopper" - the importance of cottage industry

So I logged in, hit the Subscribe button, entered the feed by hand into Pocket Casts on my phone, and got the same retired feed I deleted the other day.
From the Pocket Casts faq:
I hope you are keeping this sort of thing in mind when you do get the new feed up and running. I realize it may not be an option but I can hope.
