Bio

Ideologue, nerd, cynic, conservative, admirer of the US Constitution

I like to describe myself as a chick in her twenties that acts and thinks like a man in his fifties.

Employment status: Grad student at UTEP, studying physics, researching astrophysics, TA to too many silly undergrads

Pigboy: On the Right, it's a pervasive anti-elitism that prevents us from appreciating Modern architecture  · · 13 hours ago

I can't stand Modern architecture because  it is awful.  The Bauhaus school of design is aggressively ugly. · 9 hours ago

Aside from a few by Ludwig Mies, I dislike modern architectures, like that ghastly Disney Concert Hall.  I like King Crimson, but find contemporary classical music awful.  It's a matter of taste, and as far as I'm concerned, mine is better than yours.

Is it wrong to have compassion for terrorists?  Absolutely.  It is as wrong as preaching forgiveness every time evil  happens.

Gardens of the Moon, the first book of The Malazan Book Of The Fallen series by Steven Erickson.

Gibson's Neuromancer is great.  Mcdonald's River of Gods and the first Dune are pretty good read.

I'd Love To Change The Worldby Ten Years After. But I don't know what to do. so I'll just leave it up to you. I might as well get high while I wait. Whatever.

Dylan's Hurricane, and some of Pink Floyd's lyrics annoy me.

As a residence of Orange, I can say it's a great city.  Politics are sensible, and the climate is fantastic.  We also got few hospitals around town, such as UC Irvine and CHOC.  But, like everywhere else in Orange County, the cost of living is high.  While the area around old town is wonderful, the houses are very small and quite expensive.  Final words, Orange is still in California.

It's really easy to win, you just have to listen.

You should check out Larry Elder.  He has been talking about this crisis for years now on his show.  Let's face it, 70 percent of blacks kids are born out of wedlock  is a national crisis.

Well I won't be able to make it since I'm in Texas. BUT my aunt is in Silver Spring and I figured she can go in my stead. We're practically the same person (politically that is) so it should be the same thing. Hopefully that's okay.

Salamandyr: Top epic fantasy series: Lord of the Rings.

The Song of Ice and Fire (known to the televisionerati at the "Game of Thrones" series) should not be listed until it is finished.  At this point, I have no confidence that it will end with any kind of satisfactory conclusion.  · 1 hour ago

Unfortunately, you may be right. ASoIF may be collapsing under its own weight. I still have hope, but I feel that too many different story lines are being developed.

LotR is the finest fantasy series, and, in my opinion, it should serve as the post by which to measure any other fantasy books. · 1 hour ago

A Song of Ice and Fire badly needs at least half a dozen good editors.

I suppose in no particular order since I have issues with each of these and can't decide if I like any one more than the other.

A Song of Ice and Fire

The Dark Tower

LOTR

Harry Potter

Narnia

I'm guessing once I read more fantasy series, this list will change quite a bit. For now, it's not all that unique.

He was my first choice, and I hope he does run again.

Condottieri or mercenary fighters from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the Italian city-states/Renaissance, Japanese history during the 1800s, the Greek mathematicians, and anything Bernini related.
