Skylar, I respectfully disagree with 100% of your points with respect to Notre Dame. In fact, I rooted for Army last year. Great discussion here, though. It's good for us Catholics not to forget that Notre Dame does have its defenders (and not just atheists)  because we never get to meet them at mass.

My lefty relatives just project all their hopes and dreams on this President. They don't care if he made the promises or not. They just project what they want him to promise. "I don't think a President can do anything about gas prices" is the latest gem I got to hear recently. However, this ABC article is a nice follow up to Notre Dame suing the Administration on Monday. Things may be happening.

It seems odd that I have to write this, but here goes. In the past, it has been common for Catholic academic institutions to ignore the current administration's anti-life positions. Now, however, EVEN NOTRE DAME is going against the President's policies. If this is an odd statement, I've missed everything, which is possible. I'm prone to dum-dum-ism. But this time, I think I got it right.

Skyler: Seeing as how Notre Dame is almost the only Catholic university of note left in this country, it seems odd that you pretend that they are not Catholic.  What is the basis for this slur? · 23 minutes ago

I love it. On my way to Amazon. Thanks.

John is just an all around great person. Brilliant, kind, great sense of humor; the complete package in a human being. And how great is the podcast? It's the best thing to EVER happen to legal discourse in this country. There isn't even a 2nd place. Congratulations John!

First Album: "One" by Three Dog Night.
I was 5 and it was 1968.  I saved my pennies and bought it at the local Magnavox TV store in Seal Beach, CA. I liked the title track "One Is The Loneliest Number." I can't remember what I thought of the deep cuts, cuz I was 5!
You might be thinking "how precocious," but wait:

Second Album: "Burl Ives sings Little White Duck and other Children's Favorites"

One ancillary political effect of the administration having to face the threat of  radical Islamic terrorism is that they simply have to act, and the action they must take alienates the President's far left base.
When I mentioned the President's so-called "dump" of information about security measures last Friday afternoon to the committed leftist board operator of my radio show he couldn't spit on the ground fast enough. Keep in mind my show is one the station in L.A. that is essentially "Air America," or what's left of it. They are fuming over these minor upticks in security.

By the way, if you like this stuff, listen to my show, or better yet, call it!

Since MFR kindly asked me to weigh in, I gladly will. It's healthy to debate the value of Copyrights but so much commerce and investment has been made in reliance on things as they stand, to abandon the current principles strikes me as too "revolutionary" in the vein of people outside the gates plotting to get their hands on the goodies that they can only possess by staging a coup.
I'm on both sides as a long time recording artist and as a label owner with a catalog of 75 releases. I could benefit by either theory. However, when I entered into all my recording contracts with other labels, I knew the drill. No one bamboozled me, or my band mates. We've had a good enough run, we don't need to be handed assets for which we did not bargain.

This was after 7 years of banana daiquiris.

Thanks everyone. Bomba Estereo is something that has to be absorbed in a few different ways. It may seem like lame Spanish rap at first, but there are so many things going on with the music, it grows on you. It's very electronic, yet they choose to have a live drummer, which is a touring / recording headache. I spoke with the singer the next night and told her the band reminded me of Bow Wow Wow. She said was going to try recording a cover of one of their songs. That will be something to hear.

Would I go here if I wasn't being paid? Maybe if I was 20 years younger. They flew my wife out to so we just acted like 20 somethings for a few days. Now I feel like I've been hit by a truck.

25 years of punk rock tours are good for something I guess.

Thanks Senator,

I built a business into a 17 employee enterprise grossing 3 million in good years. It was music based so it downsized to 2 employees. I could start another non-music based business and do it again but I wont because of the uncertainties like Obamacare. I might think about it in Texas but I wouldn't do it here in California.

NOW IS THE TIME! Best way to convert is to start watching The World Over with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN. It's the Catholic O'Reilly Factor. Then start watching the rest of EWTN's schedule. It's like the Catholic SCTV, but in a holy way.
