If Obama pulled a LBJ on Thursday night and announced he was not running for re-election, I believe the economy would turn around on a dime.  He could then sidle off the stage when things were lookin up and "rescue" some of his legacy.  But it would also mean that history would judge his policies and his ideologies were a failure.  What a conundrum!
