Foxfier, Just followed your link to the description of the Philly abortionist. I remember reading about it initially and feeling near physically ill.  I don't think the death penalty should be used as often as it is but that monster has gone so far outside basic morality that I could be persuaded here.

What number would not be "shockingly high" to You? · 46 minutes ago

If  one takes the claims of why it "has" to be legal at face value (Hard after various excuses made for monsters, but eh) then anything over a tiny fraction of very extreme cases, a number so high that it's obviously being used as birth control is fairly shocking.  · 12 hours ago

Hilarious. Hilarious. Hilarious. Claire, thank you. I needed this today.

wilber forge: Oddly  enough, the jackets in the visual remind one of those worn by the guy that used to have commercials with a guidebook on how to get free government money. Remember him ? Just a thought. · 2 minutes ago

My first association was with the Riddler (i.e. the Batman villain). But now I can't get your association out of my head.

Love the new theme song! Who chose that?

I had a great time too.   I couldn't believe we stayed past eleven (I was yawning at about 5pm and wondering if I should cancel). Great conversation in true Ricochet fashion. However, after my second beer flight I'll admit to one or to CoC violations.

This really makes me wish there were no Ricochet CoC.  Yes, some bully's will stick to words and some use fists.  Yes, teachers need to stomp on it when they see either happening.  But for persistent problems, esp. physical altercations: teach your kid to fight.  All of this can be done without ridiculous laws drawn up in a hysterical PTA meeting.

Haven't read the book but would also remind everyone that locally grown produce is not usually "greener" on net because local growers don't get the economies of scale that massive freight companies get when they ship massive amounts from CA, FL or even international locations.  Also, as others have said here, the nutritional value difference is minimal between organic and non-organic.

Locally sourced often tastes better because it was allowed to ripen though not because of how it was grown.  Finally, I'm with you on the gardening and whatnot. Wonderful thing if you have the time and money to do it but ultimately not a great way to feed the hungry and keep prices down.

59 here, but i had to substitute the rural-ish British Columbian town I grew up in for the where you grew up part of the quiz. I'm surprised handling or owning firearms wasn't on the list.

Can Rob or Blue Yeti find The Joke from Breitbart's funeral and link to it online?

Wilde in Lakeview has good food and drinks. Lots of space, relatively quiet.

Red Eye guest Gavin McInnes is doing something similar at $40 with a shirt depicting Andrew's favorite rhetorical device for stopping a sloppy argument:

Russel Simmons' response to the news on twitter:

@UncleRUSH my condolences to family of Andrew Breitbart. political differences aside, he was a great patriot...

Even Hip-hop media mogul fashion designer entrepreneurs know how to do the classy thing

Rebecca and/or Diane should play the role of someone Kirk had eyes for and that person is Yeoman Janice Rand (duh). Carla is Uhura. Frasier is Bones. Woody is Chekhov or one of the red shirts that gets killed on an away mission.

Contraception mandate, unforced political error or intentional ploy to get off the topic of the economy? And does it help or hurt him come election time? him being Obama.

Fake John Galt: I thought the point of Ricochet was the debate or discussion and not the zing or smack down. I have been disturbed at the community's recent treatment of James and his point of view on his last few posts and hope we will do better in the future. Frankly if I wish to see a flame war I can go to HuffPost or dozens of other sites and save my money for a latte. · 13 minutes ago

Agreed. I'm all for a good zinger when the situation warrants it but I found a lot of the comments off-putting. None of what I saw was ad hominem or foul. However, a lot of what people had to say amounted to "James, you're an idiot" without engaging his argument.  I like the fierce back and forth Ricochet has but so many members didn't bother with constructing arguments.
